(1) Arab Genocides on Pagans & Modernity
The clash of civilization in Islamic world is a clash of Wahhabi fundamentalism with moderate Islam caused havoc in Sudan, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kosovo and Bosnia. The Judeo-Christian fundamentalism fully backed the Semite Wahhabi Islamic fundamentalism and extremism arguing that the victory of Islamic fundamentalism is a victory of iconoclast patriarchal monotheism. The Papacy and Saudi Arabia supported Muslim genocides of pagans in Uganda during Idi Amin and ongoing genocide of pagan black Africans in Southern Sudan and Darfur. Just as Muslim Arabs caused genocide in Egypt, Syria and Libya and Persia during first centuries of Islam, the Wahhabi Muslim Arabs conspiring to destroy modern Islamic civilization to descend barbaric New Dark Age on Islamic world in the 21st Century. Muslims Arabs have committed genocides throughout history to impose Islam by sword, and they continue to do so even today in Southern Sudan and Darfur.
(2) Catholic Genocides on Pagans
Roman Catholic Church unleashed the genocidal clash of civilizations on Buddhist Indo-China, South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and Orthodox Ethiopia, and pagan Congo, pagan Rwanda, pagan Burundi, pagan Congo and throughout pagan black African tribes to impose Christianity by sword throughout the pagan Africa. Roman Catholic Church played a direct role in the genocide of two million Buddhists in Pol Pot-led Cambodia and in the genocide of 2 million plus pagan Ugandans during Idi Amin regime. Ultra-conservative under Pope John Paul II onwards promoting teleological eschatology to bring about Apocalyptic Armageddon wars between Christians and Muslims to descend New Global Dark Age on the Christian world as well as Islamic world during 21st Century.
(3) Sword of tolerant inclusive Protestantism
There is neither any Islamic world power nor any Catholic world power in the world today nor would any be any time in this Century. In the 21st Century clash of civilizations the tolerant civilizations shall militarily blunt the Swords of iconoclast Catholicism and iconoclast Islam, to impose tolerance and inclusion on Catholic and Islamic religious dogma and creed. The tolerant nations such as the United States and India shall prudently leverage the predominance of the sole super power to blunt the swords of the intolerant exclusive iconoclast patriarchal Religions of Swords. In the 21st Century a global alliance of the swords of inclusive tolerant religions and eclectic ideologies shall break the swords of exclusive intolerant religions and murderous ideologies, to give deathblows to forces of extremism, fundamentalism, murderous intolerance and tyrannies.
One. In 21st Century the Sword of inclusive tolerant Religions and democratic Ideologies is stronger than the Sword of exclusive intolerant iconoclast religions and murderous ideologies. In the 21st Century the civilizational Sword of diversity inclusion and tolerance namely, the Sword of Protestant America and the Sword of Hindu India in 2006 mightier than the Sword of Papacy as well as the Sword of Islam.
Two. Neo-conservatism advocates that the King of Reformed Christianity residing at the White House must leverage the might of Sword of inclusive tolerant Christianity to enforce reforms in Papacy, Roman Catholic Church, Orthodox Christian Church and Protestant Church to make Christianity inclusive tolerant religion again, as it was during the times of Jesus, Apostles and Gnostic Apostolic Christianity, to avert the specter of Apocalypse and Armageddon in the 21st Century.
Three. Neo-Conservatism wants the Christian hegemon at the White House to enforce that Gnostic Apostolic Gospels, such as Gospel of Judas, Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Philip, Gospel of Mary Magdalene, Gospel of Sofia of Jesus Christ and Gospel of Truth are recognized as canonical Gospels in the Universal Christian Holy Bible. The Gospel of Judas resurfaced first time in 1700 years and for the first time the Protestant King is the preponderant Christian King of the world.
Four. The philosophers are better suited than priests to interpret the Scripture. The legislators are better suited than priests to decide on doctrinal controversies. The dictatorship of the priests is an evil concept. The sovereign states and sovereign empires have totalitarian powers and exercise political control over religion, religious clergy, religious scriptures and religious dogmas.
Five. Religions of Swords shall lose in the clash of civilizations, unless they undergo doctrinal Reformation, and give up their belief in the sword as propagator of religious beliefs. Time is up for Religions of Sword. The genocidal fires ignited by iconoclast patriarchal monotheist Religions of Fire and Sword, shall meet its match in mightier Sword of Reformation Mysticism spiritualism water tolerance inclusion and diversity.
(4) Catholic-Wahhabi-Crime Nexus
The growing nexus of Catholic fundamentalism and Islamic fundamentalism and Catholic Cocaine cartels and Sunni Heroin cartels threatens to descend looming Global Dark Age on the world in the 21st Century, unless remedial military or political actions are taken by tolerant inclusive civilizations such as the United States and India.
(5) India China leads the 21st Century of Asia
The rise of India and China is predestined. The civilizations of India and China represent more than one third of world population. The top four world largest economies of the world in are the United States, China, Japan and India. Neither Islamic civilization nor Catholic civilization can rival the dominance of American or Chinese or Indian civilizations now or any time in the foreseeable future.
These are the argument author makes in this chapter.
4(1) Talk Points
(1) Vatican Led Reagan Clinton Carter
Vatican’s Catholic interests determined foreign policies of the United States and NATO members in the 1980s and 1990s, and will continue to influence world politics in next two decades to AD 2020. The Soviet Union ceased to exist in the second half of the December 1991. The years after the Cold War, has witnessed the beginning of dramatic changes in the identities of the White race and the symbols of those identities. The Global politics began reconfiguring along cultural lines. The cultural identities, which at the broadest level are civilization identities, are shaping the patterns of conflict in the post-Cold War.
(2) Religion Defines Civilization
The Religion is the central defining characteristic of the Civilization. The great religions are the foundations on which the great civilizations rest. The major religions of the world are Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. The Religion determines the cultural and civilization identities. For the first time in history, global politics is multi- Civilization’s, and modernization is producing neither a universal Civilization based on a Universal Religion, nor the Westernization and Christianizing of non-Western societies. The balance of power among religious civilizations is shifting: the West and the Christianity are declining in relative influence. Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic civilizations are expanding their economic, demographic, military, and political strength. A New World order is emerging based on religious civilizations.
(3) Claim superiority to the West
The People in other non-western civilizations- Hindu, Orthodox, and Africa-may affirm the distinctive character of their cultures, but as of the mid-1990s, had been hesitant about proclaiming their superiority to Western Culture. Orthodox, Buddhist, Hindu governments do not have interstate organizations with membership based on Religion.
(4) Six Major Civilizations
The international system of the twenty-first century will contain following six major civilizations. They shall be (i) Protestant United States, (ii) Catholic United Europe, (iii) Orthodox Russia, (iv) Buddhist China, (v) Hindu India and (vi) Pakistan led Islamic World. In this new-world local politics is the politics of ethnicity; global politics is the politics of civilizations. The rivalry of the superpowers replaced by the clash of civilizations. Fifth, in the post-Cold War world, for the first time in history, global politics has become multipolar and mutli-Civilization’s.
(5) Western Expansion 1500-1900
From AD 1500 to 1900, Western nations also expanded, conquered, colonized, massacred, and decisively influenced every other Civilization. They also engaged in civilization’s wars that destroyed many indigenous civilizations. England and France fought war in India, and whosoever won the war ruled India. Anglo-Saxons competed with Spain and Portugal, but both massacred the native indigenous populations. They all promoted conversions to Christianity. It was like gangs of bandits ganging to rule the world, trying to parcel the world.
(6) India USSR Midwife to Decolonization
Khrushchev used nuclear deterrent and warned Britain and France to withdraw in 1956 Suez Canal Crisis, and Britain and France humbly withdrew. Britain and France ceased to be great powers, and the world downgraded their status to second-rate powers. It legitimized the Non-alignment movement. Nehru, Tito, Nasser and Sukarno were the leaders of the non-aligned nations. For the first time during the Cold War, from 1945 to 1991, the White Christian Soviet Union was willing to use its weapons to protect non-European nations against the colonial powers. Without the support of the Soviet Union and India, the colonial empire would not have disintegrated.
(7) Power of Non-Aligned World
During the Cold War the three most important groupings were: the First World led by America, the Second World led by the Soviet Union; the Nonaligned Third World led by India. These three blocs are the Western World, the Eastern World and the Southern World. The world was Tripolar from 1947 to 1962. The world became Bipolar from 1962 to 1991, after the Cuban Missile Crisis and India’s defeat in the 1962 India-China War. From 1947 to 1962, the three world powers were United States, Soviet Union and India, and Khrushchev and Jawaharlal Nehru determined the post Second World War to Cuban Missile Crisis age. President Kennedy’s aggressive policies in the Cuban Missile Crisis resulted in the defeat in America’s defeat in the Vietnam War in 1975, 13 years later.
(8) Christening of South Korea
South Korea historically was an overwhelmingly Buddhist country, with Christians number in 1950 perhaps 1 percent to 3 percent of the population. By 1980’s Christians, largely Presbyterians and Catholics were at least 30 percent of South Korea population. Tenth, the Cultural and religious conflicts are increasing and more dangerous today than any time in history and future conflicts will be sparked by cultural and religious factors, rather than economics or ideology. In addition, the most dangerous cultural conflicts are those along the fault lines between the civilizations. (The Clash, p. 28). In the post-Cold War world, states increasingly define their interests in Civilization’s terms. They cooperate with any ally themselves with states with similar or common culture and are more often in conflicts with countries of different culture. States define threats in terms of intentions of other states. These intentions and how they are perceived, is powerfully shaped by cultural considerations,
(9) Superiority in Applying Violence
The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas, values, or religion (to which few members of other civilizations were converted) but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do. Catholics would attempt a world conquest in the 21st Century, exploiting the military defeat of Iraq in 2003. Twelfth, in large measures the rise of the West depended upon the exercise of force, upon the fact that the military balance between the Europeans and their adversaries overseas was steadily tilting in favor of the former. The key to West’s success in creating the first truly global empires between 1500 and 1750 depended upon precisely these improvements in the ability to wage wars, which have been termed the military revolution.
(10) Christendom & Western Culture
European Christendom began to emerge as a distinct civilization in the eighth and ninth centuries. Between eleventh and thirteenth centuries, West European culture began to develop, facilitated by the transfer of knowledge from higher civilizations of Islam and Byzantine based East Roman Empire. During the same period Hungary, Poland, Scandinavia, Slovenia, Croatia converted to Catholicism. During twelfth and thirteenth century, the Catholics struggled to control Spain. The end of the fifteenth century witnessed the final Christian conquest of Iberian peninsular the effective Catholic dominance of the Mediterranean. The conquest of the Eastern Christianity by Ottoman Turks resulted in the Renaissance and the Industrial revolution in Europe. The end of the eighteenth century saw a retraction of direct European control in Americas, as first the United States, and then Haiti and then most of Latin America revolted against European rule and achieved independence.
(10) Inter-Civilization Wars (1500-1648)
For 150 years (1500-1650) before the Treaty of Westphalia (1648), the Europe was dominated by inter-civilization’s wars of Europe, by the religious Great Schism between the Vatican and Orthodoxy, and by religious and dynastic wars. For another 150 years following the Treaty of Westphalia, (1650-1800) the conflicts of Europe were largely among princes-emperors, absolute monarchs and constitutional monarchs. Beginning with the French Revolution the principal lines of conflict were between nations rather than princes. This nineteenth-century pattern lasted until First World War. Because of the Russian Revolution of 1917, the conflict of Ideologies, the conflicts of Fascism, Communism and Liberal Democracy, until the end of the Second World War supplemented the conflict of nation states. In the Cold War after 1945, the conflict of two superpowers was the conflict between communism and liberal democracy. Neither the United States nor the Soviet Union was a nation state in the traditional European sense. Both defined its identity by its ideology. The Nonaligned nations led by India, defined conflicts of nation states, as the conflict between ex-colonial powers and newly independent states.
(11) Living Languages
The living languages periodically undergo realignment and re-construction to express the identity and contours of the dominant Civilization. Language realigned and reconstructed, to accord with the identities and contours of civilizations. As power diffuses, the Babelization spreads. Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have shifted from the Cyrillic script to the Roman script. Tajikistan has adopted Arabic Script. The Serbs have shifted from Roman Script to the Cyrillic script. The Croats are purging Turkish and Arabic words.
(12) Population of Religions
The Catholics and Protestants together represented 26.9 percent of world population in 1900 and 30 percent in 1980. Muslims increased dramatically from 12.4 percent in 1900 to 16.5 or 18 percent in 1980, to 17.1 percent in 2000. Hindus represented 12.5 percent of world population in 1900, 13.3 percent in 1980 and 13.5 percent in 1985 and 13.7 percent in 2000. The Chinese Folk and Buddhists represented 31.1 percent in 1900. Buddhists minus Taoists minus Chinese folk represented 7.8 percent of world population in 1900, 6.4% in 1970, 6.2 percent in 1985 and 5.7% in 2000. A major shift toward Christianity occurred in South Korea. The percentage of Christians in the world peaked at about 30 percent in the 1980s, leveled of, is now declining and will probably approximate about 25% of the world population by 2025. The proportion of Muslims in the world will continue to increase dramatically, amounting to 20% of the world population by 2000, and probably account for about 30 percent of world population by 2025.
(13) Rise of Christian civilization
The Western European Christian Civilization emerged in the eighth and ninth century. It did not begin to modernize until the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The West was the barbarian West, long before it became modern. Eighteenth, India was the world’s sixth largest industrial nation in 1945. In 1950, the West accounted for roughly 64 percent of the gross world product; by 1980, this proportion had dropped to 49 percent. By 2013, the West will account for only 30% of the world product. In 1991, four (4) of the seven (7) largest economies of the world belonged to non-Western nations: Japan (in second place), China (third), Russia (sixth), and India (seventh). In 1992, the United States had the largest economy of the world, and the top ten economies included those of five Western countries plus the leading states of five other civilizations: China, Japan, India, Russia, and Brazil. In 2020, plausible projections indicate that the top five economies will be in five different civilizations, and the top ten economies will include only three Western countries. This relative decline of the West is, of course, in large part a function of the rapid rise of East Asia
(14) Torn Russian Civilization
Russia has been a torn country for several centuries since Peter the Great, divided over the issue whether it is part of the Western civilization or core of the distinct Eurasian Orthodox civilization. There is a danger that Russia may become Western, and the Orthodox civilization may cease to exist, it Vatican succeeds in its scheme. During 1689-1725, Kievan Rus and Muscovy existed separately from the West and had little contact with the West, Roman Catholicism, Feudalism, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the Enlightenment. The Classical Greek legacy, which came to Russia via Byzantine, was quite different from Greek legacy that which came to the West directly from Rome. Russian civilization is a product of its indigenous roots in Kievan Rus and Muscovy. The lesson of Russian history is that the centralization of power is the prerequisite to social and economic reform. In Russian history Peter became the hero of the Westernizers and the Satan of their opponent.
(15) Bolshevism was a Western Plot
Bolsheviks created powerful ties to the West, as Marx and Engels were Germans and most writers of Bolshevik views were West Europeans. Bolshevik Russia became closer to and more intimately involved with the West than any previous time in Russian history. Although the ideologies of liberal democracy and communism differed greatly, both parties speak the same language. The Vatican and the Bolsheviks, Catholics and Communists had the same common enemy, the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church. The Vatican and Chinese Communists have the same common enemy, the Taoism-Buddhism. The Vatican, Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, the Socialist Congress Party, and Indian Communists have the same common enemy, the fundamentalist, nationalist Hinduism. The Vatican and the Kemal Pasha had the same common enemy, the Sunni Islamic fundamentalism. The Vatican and the Harry Lee or Lee Kwan Yew of Singapore had the same common enemy, the Taoist-Buddhist Monks. The Vatican, Sun Yatsen and Chiang Kai sheik had the same common enemy, the Taoism and Buddhism. The Vatican, Sonia Gandhi, Muslim League, and Indian Communists have the same common enemy, the fundamentalist nationalist Hinduism. The Vatican and Solomon Jayawardane of Sri Lanka had the same common enemy, the Hinduism. The Vatican, Burmese military Junta, and Chinese have the same common enemy, the powerful Buddhist monks. The Vatican, Christian Pol Pot, Cambodian Khmer Rouge had the same common enemy, the Buddhism, and Buddhist monks. The Vatican and South Vietnam’s Christian President Diem, the Buddhist Monks. The Vatican and Communist Pathet Lao had the same common enemy in Laos, the Buddhist monks. The Vatican and Gorbachev had the same common enemy, the Russian Orthodox Church.
(16) Is Russia a distinct Civilization?
With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the debate over Russia’s true-identity reemerged in full vigor. Should Russia become a part of the West? Alternatively, does Russia embody a distinct Orthodox and Eurasian civilization with a unique destiny to link with Asia and link Orthodox civilization with Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic civilizations? India should support Slavophiles, nationalists, Euro-Asianists and derzhavniki. India should oppose Westernizes, cosmopolitans, and Atlantists. India should convince President Vladimir Putin that Russia should reject the Atlantist course, and promote an appreciable redistribution of Russian resources, options, ties, and interests in favor of Asia in the eastern and southern direction. Russia is a unique Eurasian civilization. Eastern Christian Church should develop closer spiritual links with Hinduism, to join forces to bring down the worldwide dominance of Catholic Church.
(17) Cultural Lines & Global Politics
Spurred by modernization, global politics reconfigures along cultural lines. Peoples and countries with similar cultures are coming together. Alignments defined by ideology and superpower relations are giving way to alignments defined by culture and civilization. Political boundaries are re-drawn to coincide with cultural ones, ethnic, religious, and Civilization’s. Cultural communities are replacing Cold War blocs, and the fault lines between civilizations are becoming the central lines of conflict in global politics.
(18) Egypt was World’s Cultural Center
The Emperor of the Western Roman Empire hated the Eastern Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, because the residents of Constantinople called the inhabitants of the Western Empire, barbarians. Alexander the Great, representing the Greek Empire conquered the world but removed his capital to Alexandria because Egypt was the cultural center of the world. In rage, Julius Caesar ordered the Great Library of Alexandria to burn, to destroy the opulence and knowledge of Egypt. Why otherwise any civilized person leave Alexandria to live in barbarian Rome. Princess Anna Comnena observed, when the First Crusade reached Constantinople. It seems like the entire West, including all the tribes of the barbarians living beyond the Adriatic Sea to the Pillars of Hercules started a mass migration. They are on the march, bursting forth into Asia in solid mass, with all its belongings.
(19) Vatican threat to Orthodoxy
The Vatican Pope has emerged as the principal threat to the Orthodox world. The pope has brought down the Eastern Bloc and the Great Schism would resurface as the Vatican-Orthodoxy World War in the decade of the next millennium. The Pope was central to ending the communist regime in Poland. Twenty-fifth, a new fault line is emerging, a basically cultural divide between Western Europe marked by western Christianity (Roman Catholic or Protestant), on the one hand, and the Eastern Europe marked by eastern Christianity, on the other. The new cultural division in Europe is replacing the Iron Curtain as the ancient cultural fault line between East Europe and West Europe. It places the lands of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, as well as Poland and the Baltic States within the Western Europe. It places the Balkan Orthodox countries in the Eastern Europe. This is a great religious divide between the Eastern and Western Churches. Broadly speaking, between those people who received their Christianity from Rome directly or through Celtic or German intermediaries, and those in the East and Southeast to whom it came through Constantinople (Byzantine).
(20) Yankee designs on Australia
The United States wants to conquer Australia and make it a part of NAFTA. America wants to expand NAFTA into a North American-South pacific (NASP) arrangement including the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Such grouping would reconcile culture and economics and provide a solid and enduring identify for Australia that will not come from futile efforts to make Australia Asian.
(21) Europe Declined During Cold War
During the Cold War, Europe as a whole did not exist. Catholic Poland, Hungary, East Germany and Czech Republic were in the Warsaw Pact. Establishing the eastern borders of the Catholic-Protestant civilizations has been the principal challenges confronting the West in the post-Cold War world. Who is a European and hence as potential member of the European Union, and NATO? The most compelling and pervasive answer to this question is provided by, the great historical line that has existed for centuries separating Catholic-Protestant Christianity from Orthodoxy and Sunni. This line dates back to the division of the Roman Empire in the fourth century and to the creation of the Holy Roman Empire in the tenth century. It has been in roughly its current place for at least five hundred years. Beginning in the north, it runs along the borders between Russia and Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. The Eastern boundary separates western Belarus from Orthodox eastern Belarus, separates Uniate West Ukraine from Orthodox eastern Ukraine, and separates Transylvania Romania with Catholic Hungarian population from Orthodox eastern Romania. The eastern boundary separates Catholic Slovenia and Catholic Croatia from Orthodox Serbia, Montenegro, and Muslim Bosnia. In the Balkans, this line coincides with the historical division between the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman empires. It is the cultural border of Europe. In the post-Cold War world, it is also the political and economic border of West and the East. The Civilization’s paradigm thus provides a clear-cut and compelling answer to the question, confronting west Europeans: Where does Europe end? Europe ends where Western Christianity ends, and Islam and Orthodoxy begins. It is necessary to recognize the distinction, blurred during the Soviet years, between Central Europe and Mittleuropa and Eastern Europe proper.
(22) Greater China a Cultural Realty
Greater China is thus not simply an abstract concept. It is a rapidly growing cultural and economic reality and has begun to become a political one. The economy of East Asia is increasingly China-centered and Chinese-dominated. Chinese from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore have supplied much of the capital responsible for the growth of the mainland in the 1990s. Overseas Chinese elsewhere in Southeast Asia dominate the economies of these countries. In the early 1990, Chinese made up 1 percent of the population of the Philippines but were responsible for 35 percent of sales of domestically owned firms. In Indonesia in mid 1980s, ethnic Chinese population was 2-3 percent of the total population, but owned roughly 70 percent of the private domestic capital. Seventeen of the twenty-five largest businesses were Chinese controlled. In early 1990s, the ethnic Chinese populations was 10 percent of the population of Thailand, but owned nine of the ten largest business groups, and were responsible for 50 percent of its GNP. Chinese are about one-third of the population of Malaysia but almost totally dominate the economy. Outside Japan and Korea, the East Asian economy is a Chinese economy.
(23) Inter-Civilization War of Core States
The rise of China is the potential source of a big inter-Civilization’s war of core states. The history of Western Civilization is a history of the hegemonic wars between rising and falling powers. The missing hegemonic war in Western history is that between Great Britain and the United States. Presumably, the peaceful shift from Pax-Britannica to the Pax-Americana was in large part due to the close cultural kinship of the two societies. The absence of such kinship in the shifting power balance between the West and China does not make armed conflict certain but does make it more probable. While bandwagoning may be more common a characteristic of Asian civilizations, the rise of Chinese could generate balancing efforts from states in other civilizations, such as the United States, India and Russia.
(24) Chinese Expansions
Chinese expansion via immigration could also become expansion by the military, if China decided that it should attempt to reclaim Mongolia, which the Russians detached from China after World War I, and which was for decades a satellite. At some point, the yellow hordes, which have haunted Russian imagination since the Mongol invasions, may again become a reality.
(25) Preeminent Power of East Asia
China as the dominant regional power in East Asia challenges American interests. The underlying cause of conflict between America and China is their basic difference over what should be the future balance of power in East Asia. For two thousand years, China was the preeminent power in East Asia. Chinese increasingly assert their intention to resume that historic role and to being to an end the overlong century of humiliation and subordination to the West and Japan that began with British imposition of the Treaty of Nanking in 1842.
(26) Cold Peace –Cold War – Trade War
Cold peace, cold war, trade war. Quasi war, uneasy peace, troubled relations, intense rivalry, competitive coexistence, and arms races: these phrases are the most probable descriptions of relations between entities from different civilizations. Trust and friendship will be rare. Civilizations are the ultimate human tribes, and the clash of civilizations is a tribal conflict on a global scale. Connections between states of different civilizations inherited from the past, such as Cold war military alliances, are likely to attenuate or evaporate. Hopes of inter-Civilization’s partnerships will remain unrealized. Emerging inter-Civilization’s relations would approximate a condition of Cold Peace that Boris Yeltsin warned could be the future of relations between Russia and the West.
(27) Arab Islamic Expansion
The initial Arab-Islamic sweep outward from the early seventh (7th) to the mid eighth (8th) century (600-750), established Muslim rule in North Africa, Iberia, the Middle East and Persia. For two centuries (800-1000) or so the lines of division between Islam and Christianity stabilized. Then in the late eleventh (11th) century Christians reasserted control of the western Mediterranean, conquered Sicily, and captured Toledo. In 1095, Christians launched the Crusades. For a century and a half Christian potentates attempted, with decreasing success, to establish Christian rule in the Holy Land and adjoining areas in the Near East, losing Acre, their last foothold there, in 1291. Ottoman Turks first weakened Byzantine and then conquered most of the Balkans as well as North Africa, captured Constantinople in 1453, and besieged Vienna in 1529. The spread of Islam in the seventh century was accompanied by massive migrations of Arab peoples, the scale and speed of which was unprecedented, into the lands of the Byzantine and Sassanian Empires. The Ottomans made one last push besieging Vienna again in 1683. For almost a thousand years from the first Moorish landing in Spain to the second Turkish siege of Vienna (1683), Europe was under a constant threat from Islam. Islam is the only civilization, which has put the survival of the West in doubt, and it has done that at least twice in 1529 and 1683. The Christians gradually recovered Iberia, completing the task at Granada in 1492. In the course of a century, the Ottoman Empire the scourge of Christendom transformed into the sick man of Europe.
(28) China – India Rivalry
The underlying power rivalry between the two Asian giants, and their self-images as natural great powers and centers of civilization and culture will continue to drive them to support different countries and causes. India will strive to emerge, not only as an independent power center in the multipolar world, but also as a counterweight to Chinese power and influence. Over time, the cooling of US-Pakistan relations and their common interest in containing China are likely to bring the United States and India closer together. The expansion of Indian power in Southern Asia cannot harm US interests and could serve them.
(29) Global War of Core States
A global war involving the core states of the major civilizations is highly improbable but possible. A more dangerous source of a global civilization’s war is the shifting balance of power between civilizations and their core states. If it continues, the rise of China and the increasing assertiveness of this biggest player in the history of man will place tremendous stress on international stability in the early twenty-first century. The emergence of China as the dominant power in East and Southeast Asia would be contrary to American interests as have been historically construed. Given this American interest, how might war between the United States and China develop? Assume the year is 2010.
(30) Third World War
Professor S.P. Huntington’s scenario of the third world war forecasts that with the West, Russia, China, and Japan devastated to varying degrees, the way is open for India, if it escaped such devastation even tough it was a participant, to attempt to reshape the world along Hindu lines. The great beneficiaries of the war of civilizations are those civilizations, which abstained from it. The global power would now shift from North to the South.
Thirty-fifth, the United States, NATO and West European nations formulated their foreign policies during 1945-1999, primarily to promote the religious interests of Catholicism and Protestantism. While Western media expected Russia, China, and India to adopt secular non-Religious foreign policy, they themselves pursued policies to promote Christian religious interests even at the cost of their national interests. United States sent troops to Korea and Vietnam neither to contain Communism not to contain China. On the contrary, United States engineered Communist victories in South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, to undermine the victory of Buddhism. United States promoted the hegemony of Communists by engineering the Christian-Communist alliance. Whether India, China, and Russia like or not, Western Christendom pursued Christian interests in India, Southeast Asia, Far East and Russia. The seminal writings of Professor Samuel P. Huntington explained that post-1945 foreign policies of the Western world primarily promoted the interests of Western Christendom. Hindu, Buddhist and Eastern Orthodoxy should respond to the threat of Western Christendom by pursuing Civilization’s interests of Hinduism, Buddhism and Orthodoxy, respectively. This is the purpose of the author, in summarizing the comments of Dr. Huntington.
4(2) Clash of Civilizations
(1) Prof. SP
Huntington's Forecast
Professor
Samuel P. Huntington explains in following pages that the Religion and
Civilization’s interests determined the foreign policies of Catholic and
Protestant nations in the twentieth century. First, Vatican’s Catholic
interests determined foreign policies of the United States and NATO members in
the 1980s and 1990s, and will continue to influence world politics in next two
decades to AD 2020. The Soviet Union ceased to exist in the second half of the
December 1991. The years after the Cold War, has witnessed the beginning of
dramatic changes in the identities of the White race and the symbols of those
identities. The Global politics began reconfiguring along cultural lines. The
cultural identities, which at the broadest level are civilization identities,
are shaping the patterns of conflict in the post-Cold War.
(2) New Age of
Religious Wars:
The Religion
is the central defining characteristic of the Civilization. The great religions
are the foundations on which the great civilizations rest.” (The Clash of
Civilization, p. 47) The major religions of the world are Christianity, Islam,
Hinduism and Buddhism. The Religion determines the cultural and civilization
identities. For the first time in history, global politics is multi-
Civilization’s, and modernization is producing neither a universal Civilization
based on a Universal Religion, nor the Westernization and Christianizing of
non-Western societies. The balance of power among religious civilizations is
shifting: the West and the Christianity are declining in relative influence.
Buddhist, Hindu and Islamic civilizations are expanding their economic,
demographic, military, and political strength.
A New World
order is emerging based on religious civilizations. The Vatican's
universalistic pretensions increasingly bring it into conflict with Orthodoxy,
Buddhist and Hindu civilizations. The survival of the Western civilization
depends on Americans and West Europeans reaffirming their secular nationalist
identities, defined on non-Catholic terms. The survival of the Western
Civilization also depends on the Vatican's acceptance that Christianity is not
the only Universal Religion in the world. And that Catholic Pope is not the
representative of Gods of Orthodox, Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist and tribal
civilizations, who account for more than 75% of the world population. Avoidance
of a global war of religions depends on world leaders accepting and cooperating
to maintain the multi-Civilization and multi religious character of global
politics.
(3) Hinduism & Buddhism under Assault:
The Hindu and
Buddhist civilization is under severe assaults of Christian nations, primarily
because Hindus and Buddhist do not retaliate against Christianity. “People in
other non-western civilizations- Hindu, Orthodox, Africa-may affirm the
distinctive character of their cultures, but as of the mid-1990s, had been
hesitant about proclaiming their superiority to Western Culture. (The Clash of
Civilizations, p. 102).” Hindu and Buddhist civilizations can check Christian
threat by promoting inter-state organizations based on religion. “Orthodox,
Buddhist, Hindu governments do not have interstate organizations with
membership based on Religion. (The Clash of Civilizations, p. 176)”
(4) Hindu-Buddhist
Civilization’s Allies:
Professor
Huntington is wrong in arguing that “ the virtual extinction of Buddhism in
India and Buddhism’s incorporation into existing culture in China and Japan
means as follows. That Buddhism, although a major religion has not been the
basis of a major civilization.” (The Clash, p.48) He also agreed in the Preface
that he became involved in seminars and meetings focused on “the Clash” with
academics, government and business leaders except India. “These discussions
exposed him to all the major civilizations except Hinduism.” (The Clash of
Civilizations, p.14) The purpose of Kalki Zeus is to extend the basic framework
of the “the Clash” to include the role of Hindu and Buddhist civilizations,
that account for 45 percent of the world population. The emergence of Buddhist
Law, Falun Gong sect, headed by Li Hongzhi, suggests that Buddhist government
may acquire political power in the post-Communism China, after 90 years of
Christian and Communist rule. It would be similar to Hindu nationalist
government that came to power in India in 1998; 50 years after India became
independent. The hypothesis of Clash of Civilizations in the Age of
Civilization’s wars recommends that Hindu India and Buddhist-Taoist China
should become close Civilization’s allies in the Civilization’s wars, to
compete with the Western Christendom. Chinese and Indian people also follow the
religion of Goddess. China refuses to allow the Vatican any control over
Chinese Catholic Church. China does not accept Pope as the real head of the
Church in China. Hindu India should adopt Chinese policies towards the Vatican.
The Vatican should no longer control the property of Indian Catholic Church.
India should not recognize the Pope, as the real head of the Indian Catholic
Church.
(5) India-Pak War
Both India
and Pakistan have developed and deployed tactical nuclear weapons. In the Clash
of Civilizations India and Pakistan belong to the common Aryan heritage and
have common language, culture and food habits. Any India-Pakistan War helps
Western Christendom and harms Islamic Civilization. The Clash of Civilizations
would recommend that India help Urdu-speaking Pakistan lead the Arab-speaking
Islamic world, as it would project the influence of the South Asians in the
Arab world. The deep Civilization’s bonds rules out any India-Pakistan nuclear
war. Could Hindu India align with Islamic World to keep Catholic Church out of
Asia and Africa? Hindu and Islamic civilizations are not on a collusion course.
Muslims form a significant percentage of population in Italy, France, United
States and Germany. Hindu India might support the election of a Muslim
President of France or United States, or a Muslim Prime Minister of Italy or
Britain.
(6) Hindu-Orthodoxy Alliance:
Hindu India
should exploit Catholic-Orthodox Civilization’s wars. NATO merciless bombing of
civilian targets in Serbia caused the loss of over $40 billion to civilian and
industrial infrastructure. Now onwards Catholics and Protestants would remain
entangled in the Vatican-Orthodoxy’s Civilization’s war, till one side is
annihilated. Roman Catholics aligned with Ottoman Turks to destroy Eastern
Christianity and the Byzantine Empire. Orthodox nations should align with
non-European powers, to restore the European balance of power. The balance of
power between the Western Christendom and Eastern Orthodoxy will promote peace.
Hindu India should support Orthodox nations in this ongoing civilization war.
Orthodox Serbia will provide a foothold for Hindus in Europe. Muslim Bosnia
will provide a European foothold for Shiite Iran. Muslim Kosovo will provide
European foothold for Nuclear Pakistan. The ongoing civilization’s war in
Balkans would project the influence of the land powers of South Asia in
Balkans, the geopolitical soft-belly of Western Europe. Would the armies of
South Asia retrace the land route followed by Alexander the Great, during his
invasions of India?
(7) Six World Civilizations
The
international system of the twenty-first century will contain following six
major civilizations. They shall be (i) Protestant United States, (ii) Catholic
United Europe, (iii) Orthodox Russia, (iv) Buddhist China, (v) Hindu India and
(vi) Pakistan led Islamic World. In this new-world local politics is the
politics of ethnicity; global politics is the politics of civilizations. The
rivalry of the superpowers replaced by the clash of civilizations. (The Clash
of Civilization, p.28) For forty-five years, the Iron Curtain was the central
dividing line in Europe. That line has moved several hundred miles east. It is
now the line separating the peoples of Western Christianity, on the one hand,
from the Muslim and Orthodox peoples on the other. (The Clash of Civilization,
p.28) The threats of the Cold War era appear to be modest when compared to the
threats of the Religious Wars. The end of the Cold War released the cultural
and Civilization’s forces. After the Cold War, the world is entering the Age of
Civilization’s wars and Religious Wars.
(8) Clash during Cold War
In the
post-Cold War world, for the first time in history, global politics has become
multipolar and mutli-Civilization’s. (The Clash of Civilization, p.21) The Cold
War ended on December 1991 after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. With
the beginning of the modern era, about AD 1500, global politics assumed two
dimensions. First, for more than four hundred years, 1500-1900, the nation
states of the West constituted a Multipolar international system within Western
civilization and interacted, competed and fought wars with each other. Second,
at the same time from AD 1500 to 1900, Western nations also expanded,
conquered, colonized, massacred, and decisively influenced every other
Civilization. They also engaged in civilization’s wars that destroyed many
indigenous civilizations. England and France fought war in India, and whosoever
won the war ruled India. Anglo-Saxons competed with Spain and Portugal, but
both massacred the native indigenous populations. They all promoted conversions
to Christianity. It was like gangs of bandits ganging to rule the world, trying
to parcel the world. Even Russians had tortured the indigenous native
Siberians, not very different from Anglo-Saxons treatment of the Native
Americans.
Suez War Legitimized Non-Alignment
President
Gamal Nasser, of Egypt in early 1950s had nationalized the Suez Canal and
Britain and France invaded Egypt thinking that they were the victorious Allied
Powers of the Second World War fame. Khrushchev used nuclear deterrent and
warned Britain and France to withdraw. Britain and France humbly withdrew.
Britain and France ceased to be great powers, and the world downgraded their
status to second-rate powers. It legitimized the Non-alignment movement. Nehru,
Tito, Nasser and Sukarno were the leaders of the non-aligned nations. For the
first time during the Cold War, from 1945 to 1991, the White Christian Soviet
Union was willing to use its weapons to protect non-European nations against
the colonial powers. Without the support of the Soviet Union and India, the
colonial empire would not have disintegrated. Soviet Union became the vanguard
of the anti-Colonialism front, as it reasoned that the Socialist revolution has
fundamentally transformed the Russian Czarist Empire. Orthodox Soviet Union
played an important role in the de-colonization process of the Protestant and
Catholic Empires. The Vatican organized the alliance of the Catholic and
Protestant nations to disintegrate the Soviet Union. The Vatican argued that
the disintegration of the Orthodox Soviet Empire would enable the Catholic and Protestant
powers to recreate colonial empires in Africa and Asia. Vatican wanted to use
military to force open Buddhist and Hindu civilization for Christian
conversions.
(9) Catholic Protestant Wars:
The Age of
Civilization’s war began during 1999, when NATO Air Force launched bombing
campaigns in Serbia. The Vatican, Catholics and Protestants launched the full
scale Infrastructure War, War of Deprivations, Urban Annihilation War, and
Civilization’s war on Belgrade and Serbia. The dismemberment of Yugoslavia is a
classic case of the Civilization’s war. Catholic and Protestant powers
militarily invaded Yugoslavia to carve out Sunni Bosnia and Sunni Kosovo
states. The Vatican had engineered the secession of Catholic Slovenia and
Catholic Croatia from Yugoslavia. The war in Bosnia did not open the eyes of
the world. The barbaric bombardment of civilian, infrastructure, utilities and
industrial targets in Belgrade, convinced the world that the world including
Europe has entered into the age of Civilization’s wars, and Religious Wars.
ORTHODOX-HINDU-BUDDHIST
RESPONSE: The underlying principals that justified the NATO bombing of Serbia
would apply in other regions of the world. NATO may also intervene in Kashmir,
Tibet or Chechnya. Thus, the war has implications for Hindu India and Buddhist
China. The leading States of Orthodox, Hindu and Buddhist worlds, face the
common threat from the Catholic-Protestant military alliance. Hindu
Civilization will align with Buddhist civilization to face the common threat of
White Christian European powers. India will join the inter-European wars and
inter-Christianity wars, and support Orthodox Christians. That Hindu India and
Muslim Pakistan have declared their nuclear weapon status complicates the
situation. The Civilization’s wars of the future will take place in Europe,
along the great fault line separating the Orthodoxy from Western Christendom.
(10) Nine World
Civilizations:
The
Civilization’s wars in the future will be fought among following Civilizations:
(1) Catholic, (2) Protestant, (3) Sunni, (4) Orthodox, (5) Hindu, (6) Buddhist,
(7) Shiite, (8) Tribal Animist African, and (9) Inca & Maya Civilization.
In the Civilization’s wars, the main players will be three Christian, one
Buddhist, one Hindu, and two Muslim civilizations. The civilization of
indigenous African tribal religions and indigenous American civilization would
also play major roles. Catholic civilization has aligned with Protestant
civilization to create a common from of Western Christendom civilization. The
Catholics and Protestants will fight as one Civilization’s front in the coming
age of civilization’s wars. Sunni Muslim civilization will support the Catholic
and Protestant civilizations. Catholic, Protestant, Sunni and Judaic people
have a common identity as the descendents of Abraham. Hindu Civilization will
support Orthodox civilization in its war against Protestant and Catholic
civilizations. Hindu civilization will develop alliance with Buddhist, Tribal
African and Indigenous American civilizations, to develop a common defense
against Catholic, Protestant and Sunni Civilization’s assaults.
(11) Religious
Conversions:
The issue of
religious conversions has motivated the global Civilization’s alliances.
Catholic and Protestant join hands to promote conversions amongst Russians,
Indians, Chinese, Tribal Africans and Indigenous Americans. Sunni Muslims,
Catholics and Protestants forcibly convert tribal Africans, in Sudan, Congo,
Rwanda, Burundi, and in other parts of black Africa. Tribal Africans and Tribal
Americans are under assault from Catholic, Protestant and Sunni missionaries.
Buddhism is under tremendous pressure from the Vatican and Denominations. The
common thread binding the Hindu, Buddhist, Animist African, Native American
Religions is the worship of the Almighty Goddess and the Sun worship. Hindu
Indian civilization should provide full support to the Buddhists against
Christian conversions. Hindu India desires that a Buddhist government should
govern China in the post-Communism era. Hindu India should support the revival
of the advance religions of Indigenous Americans. Hindu civilization encourages
the worship of spirits, animals and other tribal form of worship prevalent in
Africa. Hindu god Ganesha is an elephant and Hindu god Hanuman is a monkey.
Hindus worship sun god, similar to the worship of sun by indigenous Americans.
(12) Tribal
African Religions:
A very
sizeable percentage of African people follow the tribal animist religions. The
Civilization’s war in Africa is the result of Catholic, Sunni and Protestant
missionaries rushing to convert black African believers of ancient tribal
animist pagan religions. The World facts and maps by Rand McMally 1996 give the
following estimate of the population of Africa who is neither Christian nor Muslims
and who follows the ancient animist polytheist tribal African Religion of many
gods and goddess. The percentage of Black Africans exclusively following native
tribal religion is in Angola (47%) of the population, Benin (70%), Botswana
(50%), Burkina Faso (65%), Burundi (32%), Cameroon (51%), Central African
Republic (24%), Chad (23%), Congo (48%), Ivory Coast (63%), Equatorial Guinea
(17%), Ethiopia (12%), Ghana (38%), Guinea (7%), Guinea Bissau (65%), Kenya
(18%), Lesotho (20%), Liberia (70%), Madagascar (52%), Mali (9%), Mozambique
(60%), Niger (20%), Nigeria (10%), Papua New Guinea (49%), Rwanda (25%), Sierra
Leone (30%), South Africa (57%), Sudan (25%), Swaziland (40%), Tanzania (33%),
Togo (70%) and in Uganda (18%) of the population. Africa will be the main
theater of Civilization’s wars as Christians and Muslims would use military
force to convert black African followers of tribal religions. The Tribal
African civilization is preparing for the coming Civilization’s wars by
preparing the Black African people to reject the religion of the Slave Traders.
Armed Slave traders had imposed Islam and Christianity on Black Africans.
European and Arab Slave traders militarily destroyed the superior African
civilizations and religions. Hindu civilization would support the tribal
African civilization in their ongoing civilization’s wars against Christianity
and Islam.
(13) Religions’ Demography Causes War
The Clash of
Civilizations heralds a new age of Civilization wars, whenever the missionary
activities result in the demographic balance of religions. South Korea is an
example that Buddhist nations are under assault of the Vatican. “South Korea
historically was an overwhelmingly Buddhist country, with Christians number in
1950 perhaps 1 percent to 3 percent of the population. By 1980’s Christians,
largely Presbyterians and Catholics were at least 30 percent of South Korea
population.” (The Clash, p.98-99).
The purpose
of American Army in South Korean military bases had been to entice Korean
Buddhist girls into prostitution or marriage as the prelude to converting them
into Christians. American military bases in South Korea have created a boom
industry of prostitution around the camps and in the cities. Prostitutes and
their children becomes Christian to avoid social ostracism. A large military
base with over 50,000 American soldiers, periodically on rotation has been the
principal cause of the Christianizing of South Korea. Similarly, the large
American military base in Japan also converted many Japanese women into
Christianity. Rampant prostitution around military camps in the Vietnam War was
the principal cause of rapid growth of Christianity in Vietnam. A permanent
American military base in Kuwait, with 50,000 troops would transform Kuwait
into a Christian state in ten years. The Christian missionaries exacerbate
civilization’s wars, by disturbing the demographic balance of religions.
4(3) Vatican’s Religious wars
(1) Three World Blocs:
During the
Cold War the three most important groupings were: the First World led by
America, the Second World led by the Soviet Union; the Nonaligned Third World
led by India. These three blocs are the Western World, the Eastern World and
the Southern World. After the USA-NATO Bombing of Serbia, Yugoslavia, the world
has been regrouped as follows. The five principal actors in the civilization’s
wars are the following five. (1) The Catholic-Protestant worlds led by the
United States and United Europe. (2) An Orthodox world led by Russia and
Serbia. (3) A Hindu world led by India. (4) An Islamic world led by Pakistan.
(5) Buddhist world led by China and Japan. The world is increasingly becoming
Bipolar again, as Catholic, Protestant and Sunni worlds are uniting in a global
alliance to convert the world to Christianity or Islam. Catholic, Protestant
and Sunni nations have invaded the Orthodox Christian Yugoslavia, to carve out
Sunni Islamic States of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo. War on Kosovo is a war
of the Vatican, to destroy the military power of the orthodox Christianity in
the Adriatic Sea. The NATO invasions would result in a global realignment of
civilizations. The Orthodox, Hindu and Buddhist civilizations would align to
check the menace of the growing alliance of the Catholic, Protestant and Sunni
civilizations. The Vatican provides the unifying center of the Catholic,
Protestant and Sunni alliance. Anti-Papacy fervor would provide the unifying
force binding the Orthodox, Hindu and Buddhist civilization, in the
civilization war against the Vatican led coalitions.
(2) Hindu-Orthodoxy
Alliance:
Hindu India
should enter the European war to defend Orthodox Serbia. If India has to fight
NATO, then it is better for India to fight the war in Europe. The third world
war will occur along the Catholic-Orthodoxy civilizations’ historical fault
line in the Europe. NATO bombings of civilian infrastructure in Serbia may
force Serbs to steal Russian nuclear weapon technology and nuclear warheads and
missiles to use them against Saint Paul’s Cathedral in Vatican-Rome. A Limited
Nuclear Option (LNO) exercised by aggrieved Serbs will deter the Vatican's
imperial ambitions. Serbia has stolen 85 tactical nuclear weapons from the
Soviet Union, during the chaos immediately after the breakup of the Soviet
Union.
(3) Vatican
Causing Religious Wars:
The Cultural
and religious conflicts are increasing and more dangerous today than any time
in history and future conflicts will be sparked by cultural and religious
factors, rather than economics or ideology. In addition, the most dangerous
cultural conflicts are those along the fault lines between the civilizations,
(The Clash, p. 28). In the post-Cold War world, states increasingly define
their interests in Civilization’s terms. They cooperate with any ally
themselves with states with similar or common culture and are more often in
conflicts with countries of different culture. States define threats in terms
of intentions of other states. These intentions and how they are perceived, is
powerfully shaped by cultural considerations, (The Clash, p. 34). Hindu
nationalist government of India would seek closer relations with the Buddhist
nations of East Asia. Common civilization bonds would cement closer military
relationship between India and China. Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia
had been the part of Greater Hindu civilization of Asia. India would make a
common cause with Cambodians who suffered massacre, at the hands of Christian
Khmer Rouge troops, who targeted Cambodian Buddhist Monks to expedite the
Christianizing of Cambodia.
(4) Religion in
World Politics:
Religion
would increasingly determine the world politics in the next Century. Human
history is the history of civilizations. Religion determines the nature of
civilizations. State borders have become increasingly permeable. Nation states
have been the norms in Europe since the Treaty of Westphalia in 1648, which
challenged the Holy Roman Empire and challenged Papal claim for supranational
loyalty. The Vatican exacerbated the partition of Catholic Slovenia and
Catholic Croatia from Orthodox Yugoslavia and was the first state to accord
recognition. The Vatican is the cause of the misery and bloodshed in the
Balkans. The Vatican pushed NATO invasions of Yugoslavia, and it signals the
emergence of an international order more closely resembling that of medieval
times. The Vatican would influence the foreign policies of the United States
and United Europe. The United States fought the Vietnam War not to promote
secular national interests in Southeast Asia, but to promote Christianity.
Catholic President Diem of South Vietnam refused the support of Buddhist Monks
to jointly fight atheist Communists. On the contrary, he used military force
against Buddhist monks and temples. The United States expanded the war in the
Neutral Cambodia and Laos, primarily to destroy the Buddhist political and
cultural infrastructures. Anti-Vatican alliances would determine the response
of the Orthodox, Hindu and Buddhist worlds against the Catholic and Protestant
worlds. In case America becomes the bulwark of the Vatican, then the Orthodox,
Hindu and Buddhist worlds would become hostile to the United States.
(5) Civilization’s Massacres:
The West won
the world not by the superiority of its ideas, values, or religion (to which
few members of other civilizations were converted) but rather by its
superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact;
non-Westerners never do. (S.P. Huntington, The Clash of Civilization, p.51)
Catholics would attempt a world conquest, unless the US-NATO invasions in some
future war meet the defeat, similar to that of the Vietnam War and Afghanistan
War. The real danger in the Clash of Civilizations is that the victor may
annihilate the defeated civilizations. The Vatican has declared a war on
Orthodoxy, Hinduism and Buddhism. The Second and Third World should pool their
military resources, to blunt the military superiority of the United States in
the land warfare.
(6) Military
Technology & Asia:
In large
measures the rise of the West depended upon the exercise of force, upon the
fact that the military balance between the Europeans and their adversaries
overseas was steadily tilting in favor of the former. The key to West’s success
in creating the first truly global empires between 1500 and 1750 depended upon
precisely these improvements in the ability to wage wars, which have been
termed the military revolution. (The Clash, p.51) NATO air bombardments in
Serbia do not highlight the superiority of the Catholic ideas or values or
morality or religion. NATO by barbaric invasions seeks to deny Orthodox Serbia
a direct access to the Adriatic Sea. The failure of the US-NATO Air Power to
win the ground war in the mountainous Kosovo would signal the decline of the
maritime powers. The recent advances in military revolution like GPS
technology, cellular phones, all terrain vehicles, night vision goggles,
shoulder launched antiaircraft missiles has turned the balance in favor of
light mobile infantry. India should militarily support Serbia against NATO
troops, because the defeat of NATO would be the defeat of Sea Powers and Air
Powers. India is a Land Power. India should trace the path of Greek Emperor
Alexander, to project Indian land power in the Balkans. The defeat of
Yugoslavia would herald the new age of Colonialism in the twenty-first century.
Land powers of the world should militarily help Serbia, to defeat the maritime
European powers, in the War of Kosovo. Nuclear India should not allow the
conquest of Yugoslavia, by the Vatican led US-NATO troops. Should Russia allow
Serbia to steal Russian nuclear weapons and missile technology, to retaliate
against Chinese theft of nuclear weapons secrets from the US nuclear labs?
(7) Rise of West
in Ninth Century:
European
Christendom began to emerge as a distinct civilization in the eighth and ninth
centuries. Between eleventh and thirteenth centuries, West European culture
began to develop, facilitated by the transfer of knowledge from higher
civilizations of Islam and Byzantine based East Roman Empire. During the same
period Hungary, Poland, Scandinavia, Slovenia, Croatia converted to
Catholicism. During twelfth and thirteenth century, the Catholics struggled to
control Spain. The end of the fifteenth century witnessed the final Christian
conquest of Iberian peninsular the effective Catholic dominance of the
Mediterranean. The conquest of the Eastern Christianity by Ottoman Turks
resulted in the Renaissance and the Industrial revolution in Europe. The end of
the eighteenth century saw a retraction of direct European control in Americas,
as first the United States, and then Haiti and then most of Latin America
revolted against European rule and achieved independence. The Monroe Doctrine
put an end to the direct European rule in Americas. European and former
European colonies in the Americas controlled 35% of the earth surface in 1800,
67% in 1878 and 84% in 1914. In 1800, the British Empire consisted of 1.5
million square miles and 20 million people. By 1900, the British Empire
included 11 million square miles and 390 million people. In the course of
European expansion, the Catholic Spaniards destroyed the Native American Andean
Inca and Mesoamerica's Maya and Aztec civilizations. Europeans also subjugated
Indian, Islamic and African civilizations. The Vatican would again attempt the
subjugation of non-Christian civilizations, if NATO succeeds in defeating the
Orthodoxy in Kosovo.
(8) Conflict of
Ideologies:
For 150 years
(1500-1650) before the Treaty of Westphalia (1648), the Europe was dominated by
inter-civilization’s wars of Europe, by the religious Great Schism between the
Vatican and Orthodoxy, and by religious and dynastic wars. For another 150
years following the Treaty of Westphalia, (1650-1800) the conflicts of Europe
were largely among princes-emperors, absolute monarchs and constitutional
monarchs. Beginning with the French Revolution the principal lines of conflict
were between nations rather than princes. This nineteenth-century pattern
lasted until First World War. Because of the Russian Revolution of 1917, the
conflict of Ideologies, the conflicts of Fascism, Communism and Liberal
Democracy, until the end of the Second World War supplemented the conflict of
nation states. In the Cold War after 1945, the conflict of two superpowers was
the conflict between communism and liberal democracy. Neither the United States
nor the Soviet Union was a nation state in the traditional European sense. Both
defined its identity by its ideology. The Nonaligned nations led by India,
defined conflicts of nation states, as the conflict between ex-colonial powers
and newly independent states. The breakup of the Soviet Union has resulted in
the United States as the sole Super Power. In the late twentieth century, it
has blossomed in the widespread and parochial conceit that the European
civilization of the West is now the universal civilization of the world. (The
Clash, p.55) NATO invasions of Yugoslavia, is an attempt by the Vatican to
impose Catholicism as the universal civilization of the world. President Monroe
by Monroe Doctrine undermined direct European rule over Hispanic American
colonies. Bill Clinton by launching NATO strikes in Yugoslavia seeks to impose
the Vatican as the universal civilization in the multiCivilization world of the
twenty-first century. The Vatican, NATO and the United States have emerged as
the principal threat to the world in the next Century. The alliance of the
Catholic, Protestant nation has emerged as the evil Empire.
(9) Linguistic Wars of Scripts:
The living
languages periodically undergo realignment and re-construction to express the
identity and contours of the dominant Civilization. Language realigned and
reconstructed, to accord with the identities and contours of civilizations. As
power diffuses, the Babelization spreads. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 64)
Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have shifted from the
Cyrillic script to the Roman script. Tajikistan has adopted Arabic Script. The
Serbs have shifted from Roman Script to the Cyrillic script. The Croats are
purging Turkish and Arabic words.
(10) Population Wars
The Catholics
and Protestants together represented 26.9 percent of world population in 1900
and 30 percent in 1980. Muslims increased dramatically from 12.4 percent in
1900 to 16.5 or 18 percent in 1980, to 17.1 percent in 2000. Hindus represented
12.5 percent of world population in 1900, 13.3 percent in 1980 and 13.5 percent
in 1985 and 13.7 percent in 2000. The Chinese Folk and Buddhists represented
31.1 percent in 1900. Buddhists minus Taoists minus Chinese folk represented 7.8
percent of world population in 1900, 6.4% in 1970, 6.2 percent in 1985 and 5.7%
in 2000. A major shift toward Christianity occurred in South Korea. The
percentage of Christians in the world peaked at about 30 percent in the 1980s,
leveled of, is now declining and will probably approximate about 25% of the
world population by 2025. The proportion of Muslims in the world will continue
to increase dramatically, amounting to 20% of the world population by 2000, and
probably account for about 30 percent of world population by 2025.
(11) Military
Bases help Christian Conversions:
Permanent
military bases in Asia have significantly contributed toward Christian
conversions. The United military bases in the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan,
South Korea has converted a large number of Buddhists. The United States
maintained 500,000 troops in Vietnam War, and the troops caused the births of
more than a million mixed Vietnamese. Vietnamese Buddhists ostracized the mixed
Vietnamese-American race so these mixed-blood Vietnamese peoples had no option
but to become Christians. The large number of prostitutes required to serve the
military bases expedited Christian conversions. The large permanent military
base in South Korea has given birth to a very large number of Korean Americans
who become Christians. The Vietnam War created very large number of Buddhist
prostitutes in Thailand. It has been a significant factor for Buddhist
conversions to Christianity in Thailand. The US military bases in Japan
produced large numbers Japanese Geishas and prostitutes who later became
Christians and joined the ranks of Japanese Americans. NATO intended to send
200,000 troops as peacekeeping force in Kosovo, who would need around 200,000
prostitutes a year. Therefore, it is likely that all girls in Albania and
Kosovo will eventually become Christians via the prostitution route. Similar
demographic change might be underway in Bosnia-Herzegovina. It is possible that
Albania and Bosnia would become Catholic nations if the NATO peacekeeping force
stays over a decade in the region. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait oppose the permanent
presence of US troops on their land, primarily because it would erode their
control over their women folk who all would prefer marrying American soldiers.
A permanent military base of 100,000 American troops in Saudi Arabia and
Kuwait, over the period of a decade would transform these Islamic nations into
Christian States. Permanent military base is the time-tested instrument of
religious conversions of the women folk, either through the route of
prostitution or intermarriage or both. India should develop overseas military
bases, deploy unmarried draftees, and encourage them to marry the local women
folks.
(12) Barbarian
Origin of the West:
Western
European Christian Civilization emerged in the eighth and ninth century. It did
not begin to modernize until the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The West
was the barbarian West, long before it became modern. Orthodox civilization was
centered in Russia and separate from Catholic civilization, as a result of its
Byzantine parentage, distinct religion, 200 years of Tartar rule, bureaucratic
despotism and limited exposure to the Renaissance, Reformation, Enlightenment
and industrial revolution.
(13) Separation Of
Spiritual & Temporal Powers:
Only in Hindu
civilization were religion and politics so distinctly separated. Throughout the
Western history first the Church and then many churches existed apart from the
state. God and Caesar, church and state, spiritual authority and temporal authority
have been a prevailing dualism in Western culture. In Islam, God is Caesar. In
Orthodoxy, God is junior partner of the Caesar. In China and Japan, Caesar is
God. The separation and recurring clash between church and state that typify
Western civilization have existed in no other civilization. This division of
authority contributed immeasurably to the development of freedom in the West.
(The Clash of Civilization, p. 70)
(14) Reformation:
The
Reformation was the result of the revolt of the Protestants, who led Christian
laymen against the authoritarian Papal control over the affairs of the
Christians. In democratic societies, the Papacy misuses the tax-exempt Church
property under its control, to influence the outcome of the secular elections,
by influencing the campaign donations and political endorsements from the
Church pulpits. It is no wonder that numerous Catholic priests hold political
offices as Senators, Congressmen, Mayors and Governors. The Papacy conspires to
create a secular Holy Roman Empire by securing the election of a Catholic
Priest as the President of the United States. China has been able to steal all
nuclear weapons secrets from US nuclear weapons labs, by selective campaign
donations to the Presidential and Party campaigns. Perhaps Papacy would steal
the Presidency of the United States itself. By political bribes, control over
vote banks and selective campaign donations to a major political party. The
grass root political movements, such as Right to life movements, have developed
a stranglehold over the Republican Party Presidential campaigns. It would not
be difficult for the Vatican to implant a Catholic Priest as the future
President of the United States, by hijacking the Primaries of the Republic
Party. The increased influence of the Vatican over US election campaign
contributions would harm the WASP control over the United States. Protestants
have aligned with Catholics and the Papacy in the war against Orthodoxy and
against Orthodox Serbia. Protestant leaders would become hostile toward the
Vatican, once the dominant WASP Protestants get convinced that Catholics would
overtake Protestants in the United States. The Catholics and Protestants would
fight a bloody battle for the control of the White House in the United States.
The Vatican conspiracy to occupy the US White House would create immense hatred
among Protestants, perhaps more than Orthodox Serbs hatred for Papacy.
4(4) Fading of the West
(1) India's Share of World Output(1750-1980)
In 1750 India
accounted for 24.5%, China for 32.8%, West for 18.2%, Orthodoxy for 5.0% and
Japan for 3.8% of the worlds manufacturing output. In 1800, India accounted for
19.7%, China for 33.3%, West for 23.3%, Russia for 5.6% and Japan for 3.5%. In
1830, India accounted for 17.6%, China for 19.7%, West for 31.1% and Japan
2.8%. In 1860, India accounted for 8.6%, China for 19.7%, West for 53.7%,
Russia 7.0% and Japan for 2.6%. In 1880, India accounted for 2.8%, China for
12.5%, West for 68.8%, Russia for 7.6% and Japan for 2.4%. In 1900, India accounted
for 1.7%, China for 6.2%, West for 77.4%, Russia for 8.8% and Japan for 2.4%.
In 1913, India accounted for 1.4%, China for 3.6%, West for 81.6%, Russia for
8.2% and Japan for 2.7%. In 1928, India accounted for 1.9%, China for 3.4%,
West 84.2%, Russia for 5.3% and Japan 3.3%. In 1938, India accounted for 2.4%,
China 3.1%, West 78.6%, Russia for 9.0% and Japan 5.2%. In 1953, India
accounted for 1.7%, China 2.3%, West 74.6%, Russia for 16.0% and Japan for
2.9%. In 1963, India accounted for 1.8%, China 3.5%, West 65.5%, Russia 20.9%
and Japan 5.1%. In 1973, India accounted for 2.1%, China 3.9%, West 61.2%,
Russia 20.1% and Japan 8.8%. In 1980, India accounted for 2.3%, China 5.0%,
West 57.8%, Russia 21.1% and Japan 9.1%. Indian share of world manufacturing
output was 24.5% (1750), 19.7% (1800), 17.6% (1830), 8.6% (1860), 2.8% (1880),
1.7% (1900), 1.4% (1913), 1.9% (1928), 2.4% (1938), 1.7% (1953), 1.8% (1963),
2.1% (1973) and 2.3% (1980). Similarly Chinese share declines from 32.8%,
33.3%, 29.8%, 19.7%, 12.5%, 6.2%, 3.6%, 3.4%, 3.1%, 2.3%, 3.5%, 3.9% and 5.0%.
(Paul Bairoch, International Industrialization Levels from 1750 to 1980,
Journal of European Economic History, (fall 1982), 269-334.
(2) India Produced 1/4 of World:
Robert Clive
won the Battle of Plassey, in 1757 with the loss of 35 soldiers and established
the Bengal Empire. India dominated the textile trade of the world and Dhaka
Muslin dominated the textile trade of the world. English textiles could never
compete with the quality of the Dhaka Muslin. Barbaric Robert Clive ordered the
genocide in Bengal by ordering the severance of the right thumb of all master
weavers of Dhaka Muslin. Clive ordered all textiles loom destroyed. Indian
shares of world manufacturing output fell from 24.5% (1750), 19.7% (1800),
17.6% (1830), to 8.6% in 1860 and 2.8% in 1880. India during 600 years of the
Muslim rule retained the wealth of India. India’s Share of the world
manufacturing output was 24.5%, when European arrived in India. Indian poverty
is due to the exploitation by the barbaric English rule. In 1857, Britain won
the war of independence and India came under direct British rule. Indian share
declined from 17.6% in 1830, to 8.6% in 1860, to only 2.8% in 1880. It proves
that the British invasion of India was an invasion of the uncivilized
barbarians of an advanced civilization. It establishes that the principal enemy
of Hindu India is not Islam but West and Christianity.
(3) Indian Share of World GDP
The share of
the Hindu Civilization of the world GDP, the world manufacturing output has
been 3.8% (1950), 3.0% (1970), 2.7% (1980), and 3.5% (1992). The share of China
has been 3.3% (1950), 4.8% (1970), 6.4% (1980), and 10.0% (1992). The share of
Japan has been 3.1% (1950), 7.8% (1970), 8.5% (1980), and 8.0% (1992).
Russia/Orthodox share has been 16.0% (1950), 17.4% (1960), 16.4% (1980) and
6.2% (1992). North America & Western European share has been 64.1% (1950),
53.4% (1970), 48.6% (1980), and 48.9% (1992). (Herbert Block, The Planetary
Product in 1980: A Creative Pause? (Washington DC-1981, p30-45) In the
information age, India would bridge the gap with China.
(4) Nehru Family
Harmed India:
India was the
world’s sixth largest Industrial economy of the world in 1945. India lost its
lead due to the disastrous policies of the Prime Ministers Nehru, Indira Gandhi
and Rajiv Gandhi. It shows that in 1950 share of India (3.8%) measures
favorably with Japan's (3.1%) and China's (3.3%). At the end of the Second
World War India was the world's sixth largest industrial economy. During 1970,
the share of India declined (3.0%), while China (4.8%) and Japan (7.8%).
Chinese invasions of India in 1962 and Indira Gandhi's devaluation Indian
currency by 48% in 1964 signaled the decline of India economy. Indian economy
deteriorated under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. During 1980 India (2.7%)
declined again, and China (6.4%) and Japan (8.5%) rose. In 1992, share of India
of the world’s total manufactured goods was (3.5%) rose along with that of
China (10.0%) and Japan (8.0%). India should abandon the socialist policies.
India should adopt capitalist policies and align with the capitalist West.
(5)
De-industrialization of Asia
The
industrialization of the West led to the de-industrialization of the rest of
the world. In 1913 the manufacturing output of non-Western countries was
roughly two-thirds what it had been in 1800. Beginning in the mid-nineteenth
century, the Western share rose dramatically, peaking in 1928 at 84.2% of the
world manufacturing output. In 1750 China accounted for almost one-third
(32.8%), India for almost one-quarter (24.5%) and the West (West Europe,
Canada, USA) for less than a fifth (18.2%) of the world manufacturing output.
(The Clash of Civilization, p.86-87) Colonial powers used their military
superiority to destroy the industrial, financial and economic infrastructures
of the colonies. The Indian market for the Western manufactured goods
developed, only when Colonial military destroyed the India's industrial base.
The Civilization’s wars and Infrastructure wars begin in the Western Europe and
Balkans in a future, as a result of NATO air attacks against civilian targets
in Yugoslavia. The Infrastructure Wars would result in the de-industrialization
of the West, and expedite the industrialization of Asia due to the increased
demand and reduction of the installed capacity. De-industrialization of Europe
will result in the industrialization of Asia. It would be in the interest of
Asia to keep the theater of the Third World War in Western Europe.
(6) Rise of India & China:
It appears
probable that most of history China had the largest economy in the world. The
diffusions of technology and the economic development of the Western societies
in the second half of the twentieth-century are now producing a return to the historic
pattern. This will be a slow process, but by the middle of the twenty-first
century, if not before, the distribution of economic product and manufacturing
output among leading civilizations is likely to resemble that of 1800. The
two-hundred-year blip on the world economy will be over (The Clash of
Civilization, p. 88).
(7) Rise of India
Decline of West
In 1950, the
West accounted for roughly 64 percent of the gross world product; by 1980, this
proportion had dropped to 49 percent. By 2013, the West will account for only
30% of the world product. In 1991, four (4) of the seven (7) largest economies
of the world belonged to non-Western nations: Japan (in second place), China
(third), Russia (sixth), and India (seventh). In 1992, the United States had
the largest economy of the world, and the top ten economies included those of
five Western countries plus the leading states of five other civilizations:
China, Japan, India, Russia, and Brazil. In 2020, plausible projections
indicate that the top five economies will be in five different civilizations,
and the top ten economies will include only three Western countries. This
relative decline of the West is, of course, in large part a function of the
rapid rise of East Asia (The Clash of Civilization, p. 87). The demise of the
economies of the Asian Tigers guarantees that India would be one of the top six
economies of the world for a long time.
(8) Christianizing of Korea:
South Korea
historically was an overwhelmingly Buddhist country, with Christians numbering
in 1950 perhaps 1 percent to 3 percent of the population. By 1980s Christians,
largely Presbyterians and Catholics, were at least 30 percent of South Korean
population, (The Clash of Civilization, p. 99). The US military base in South
Korea has spawned the prostitution industry in South Korea and coupled with the
marriages with the soldiers, has been the mantra for the Buddhist girls to
dream for a future in the West. South Korea was an entertainment center for the
American troops during the Vietnam War and it socially destroyed the Buddhist
social fabric of the Buddhist society. Sexual exploitation of the South Korean
women by American troops has been the important factor influencing the
conversion of Buddhist girls into Christian faiths.
(9) PROTESTANTISM
SPREADS IN BRAZIL: In Brazil in the early 1990s, around 20 percent of the
population identified themselves as Protestant, and 73 percent as Catholic.
Even then on Sundays 20 million people were in Protestant churches and about 12
million were in Catholic churches. Christianity is going through resurgence
connected to modernization, and in Latin America, it has taken a Protestant
rather than a Catholic form, (The Clash, p. 99). Protestants would compete with
Catholics in Hispanic America and it affects the Protestant-Catholic alliance
against Orthodoxy in Europe. The Vatican could strike back against Protestants
by pulling the rug under their feet in the United States. Whenever, Vatican
succeeds in persuading the President of the United States to place the military
power of the United States at the service of Catholic causes, and then it will
unleash bloody religious wars between Catholics and Protestants.
(10)
Westoxification of Hindus-Buddhists:
The revival
of non-Western religions is the most powerful manifestation of opposition to
Westernization in non-Western societies. That revival is not a rejection of the
modernity; it is a rejection of the West. It is a rejection of what has been
termed the Westoxification of non-Western societies. It is a declaration of
cultural independence from the West, a proud statement that: We will be modern
but we will not be you. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 101) In the
Vatican-Orthodoxy War of Religions, India and China would take anti-Vatican
posture. In the world war of religions, the Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist societies
could join hands to keep Christianity out of Asia and Africa. Black Africans
could revolt against the religion of the slave traders.
4(5) New Orthodox Bloc
(1) Civilization’s Shift in Russia:
Russia has
been a torn country for several centuries since Peter the Great, divided over
the issue whether it is part of the Western civilization or core of the
distinct Eurasian Orthodox civilization. There is a danger that Russia may
become Western, and the Orthodox civilization may cease to exist, it Vatican
succeeds in its scheme. During 1689-1725, Kievan Rus and Muscovy existed
separately from the West and had little contact with the West, Roman
Catholicism, Feudalism, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the
Enlightenment. The Classical Greek legacy, which came to Russia via Byzantine,
was quite different from Greek legacy that which came to the West directly from
Rome. Russian civilization is a product of its indigenous roots in Kievan Rus
and Muscovy. Peter the Great was determined to modernize and Westernize Russia.
Following the Petrine model, Lenin, Stalin, and to a lesser degree Catherine II
and Alexander II, tried to modernize and Westernize Russia.
(2) Democratizers
& Westernizers:
The
Democratizers in Russia are usually Westernizers, but Westernizers are not
Democratizers. The lesson of Russian history is that the centralization of
power is the prerequisite to social and economic reform. Gorbachev became
misfit because the glasnost created economic liberalization, and in the absence
of centralization of power, the Soviet Union broke up. Gorbachev undermined
Orthodox heritage of Russia.
(3)
Slavophiles-Eurasians-Westernizers:
In Russian
history Peter became the hero of the Westernizers and the Satan of their
opponent, and traitor of the Eurasians of the 1920, who hailed Bolsheviks for
rejecting Westernization and challenging Europe. Bolsheviks argued that Russia
was different from the West because it was more advanced than the West.
Westernizers argue that the sun is the sun of the West and Russia must use this
light to illuminate and change its inherited institutions. Slavophile argues
that Europeanizing efforts distorts the Russian life, replacing its forms with
alien forms, and view Russia through a glass fashioned to a Catholic angle of
refraction.
(4) Bolshevik
Jews' World Plot:
Bolsheviks
created powerful ties to the West as Marx and Engels were Germans. Most writers
of Bolshevik views were West Europeans. Bolshevik Russia became closer to and
more intimately involved with the West than any previous time in Russian
history. Although the ideologies of liberal democracy and communism differed
greatly, both parties speak the same language. The Vatican and the Bolsheviks,
Catholics and Communists had the same common enemy, the Eastern Orthodox
Christian Church. The Vatican and Chinese Communists have the same common
enemy, the Taoism-Buddhism. The Vatican, Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, the Socialist
Congress Party, and Indian Communists have the same common enemy, the
fundamentalist, nationalist Hinduism. The Vatican and the Kemal Pasha had the
same common enemy, the Sunni Islamic fundamentalism. The Vatican and the Harry
Lee or Lee Kwan Yew of Singapore had the same common enemy, the Taoist-Buddhist
Monks. The Vatican, Sun Yatsen and Chiang Kai sheik had the same common enemy,
the Taoism and Buddhism. The Vatican, Sonia Gandhi, Muslim League, and Indian
Communists have the same common enemy, the fundamentalist nationalist Hinduism.
The Vatican and Solomon Jayawardane of Sri Lanka had the same common enemy, the
Hinduism. The Vatican, Burmese military Junta, and Chinese have the same common
enemy, the powerful Buddhist monks. The Vatican, Christian Pol Pot, Cambodian
Khmer Rouge had the same common enemy, the Buddhism, and Buddhist monks. The
Vatican and South Vietnam’s Christian President Diem, the Buddhist Monks. The
Vatican and Communist Pathet Lao had the same common enemy in Laos, the
Buddhist monks. The Vatican and Gorbachev had the same common enemy, the
Russian Orthodox Church.
(5) Catholics Hired Karl Marx:
It is very
likely that Karl Marx and F. Engles were hired by Vatican to write iconoclast
philosophy to undermine the Orthodox and Buddhist civilizations. Karl Marx was
a philosopher-prostitute who wrote a philosophy to serve the ends of Vatican
and Western Christendom. It can been argued that Communism and Catholicism are
the two fundamental enemies of the Hindu, Buddhist and Orthodox civilizations.
The main purpose of the civilization’s wars shall be to bring down the
Communism, Socialism, and Catholicism. A Western democrat can carry on an
intellectual debate with a Soviet Marxist, Chinese Marxist, and Indian
Socialist. It is impossible for the Western diplomats and democrat to accept
the perspective of a Russian Orthodox nationalist, Chinese Taoist-Buddhist
nationalist, Indian Hindu nationalist.
(6) India &
Slavophiles:
With the
collapse of the Soviet Union, the debate over Russia’s true-identity reemerged
in full vigor. Should Russia become a part of the West? Alternatively, does
Russia embody a distinct Orthodox and Eurasian civilization with a unique
destiny to link with Asia and link Orthodox civilization with Hindu, Buddhist,
and Islamic civilizations? India should support Slavophiles, nationalists,
Euro-Asianists and derzhavniki. India should oppose Westernizes, cosmopolitans,
and Atlantists. India should convince Boris Yeltsin that Russia should reject
the Atlantist course, and promote an appreciable redistribution of Russian
resources, options, ties, and interests in favor of Asia in the eastern and
southern direction. Russia is a unique Eurasian civilization. Eastern Christian
Church should develop closer spiritual links with Hinduism, to join forces to
bring down the worldwide dominance of Catholic Church.
Russia should
cooperate with Hindu India against the West. A Hindu-Orthodox alliance will
bring back Muslim Central Asia under the Russian influence. India is willing to
help Russia recreate Soviet Union and reunited Yugoslavia. The national
interests of Hindu Nuclear India and Orthodox Russian imperial nationalists
coincide in Asia and Europe.
(7) Gorbachev & Sheverdnadze CIA Spies
The CIA and
American Jews have implanted spies among Russian policy making elite that
subordinating Russia’s interests to those of the West, sabotaging Russian
military strength, siphoning away Russia’s capital overseas. Gorbachev could
have been a CIA spy who broke up the Soviet Union.
(8) Papal Wars on Orthodoxy
The Emperor
of the Western Roman Empire hated the Eastern Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire,
because the residents of Constantinople called the inhabitants of the Western
Empire, barbarians. Alexander the Great, representing the Greek Empire
conquered the world but removed his capital to Alexandria because Egypt was the
cultural center of the world. In rage, Julius Caesar ordered the Great Library
of Alexandria to burn, to destroy the opulence and knowledge of Egypt. Why
otherwise any civilized person leave Alexandria to live in barbarian Rome.
Princess Anna Comnena observed, when the First Crusade reached Constantinople.
It seems like the entire West, including all the tribes of the barbarians
living beyond the Adriatic Sea to the Pillars of Hercules started a mass
migration. They are on the march, bursting forth into Asia in solid mass, with
all its belongings. (Arnold J. Toynbee, Study of History (London, 1954) VIII,
p.30) & (The Clash of Civilization, p. 211)
(9) Civilization’s Alliances:
Spurred by
modernization, global politics reconfigures along cultural lines. Peoples and
countries with similar cultures are coming together. Alignments defined by
ideology and superpower relations are giving way to alignments defined by
culture and civilization. Political boundaries are re-drawn to coincide with cultural
ones, ethnic, religious, and Civilization’s. Cultural communities are replacing
Cold War blocs, and the fault lines between civilizations are becoming the
central lines of conflict in global politics, (The Clash of Civilization,
p.126)
(10) Hindu Buddhist
Alliance
India would reformulate its foreign policy to strengthen its ties with the Buddhist and Hindu world. Hindu-Buddhist alliance of India and China would reverse the spread of Christianity and Islam in the world. Hinduism and Buddhism have so much in common that Hinduism and Buddhism, are the two sides of the same coin. India would develop close relations with Buddhists in Thailand, Burma, Sri Lanka, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. India should also develop closer relations with Hindus in Bali Island and Indian origin people in Mauritius, Fiji, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago and South Africa. India will adopt Hindu foreign policy, and it shall not be against Indian national interest.
(11) Aryan
Alliance
India would
develop close military relations with the Muslim neighbors as they all are from
the common Aryan stock and common Indo-Iranian heritage. India will exploit
Aryan bond that binds together India, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan,
Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Kurds. Pakistan, Iran and India
would realize their common Aryan ancestry. The term Aryan means Iryan and it
mean the ancient people that originated in a region now occupied by Iran and
Punjab. The language, culture and race, binds South Asians and it would justify
a Defense Pact of India with Pakistan, Iran and Kurdistan. Civilization’s bonds
would force India, Pakistan and Iran to militarily support Kurds to carve out
the new state of Kurdistan in west Asia. India and China would align to protect
Hinduism and Buddhism from the common threat of Christianity.
(12) Orthodox
Alliance:
Pan European
Orthodox Alliance is needed. The Vatican Pope has emerged as the principal
threat to the Orthodox world. The pope has brought down the Eastern Bloc and
the Great Schism would resurface as the Vatican-Orthodoxy World War in the
decade of the next millennium. The Pope was central to ending the communist
regime in Poland. (The Clash of Civilization, p.114) The Catholic countries,
Poland, Hungary, Czech republic, former Warsaw Pact members, have joined the
NATO. During Cold War, Greece and Turkey were in NATO. Bulgaria and Romania
were in the Warsaw Pact. Yugoslavia was Non-Aligned. Now these Cold War
alignments are giving away way to Civilization’s ones rooted in Orthodoxy and Islam.
Balkan leaders talk of crystallizing a Greek-Serb-Bulgarian Orthodox alliance.
The Balkan wars have brought to the surface the resonance of Orthodox ties.
This is a bond. It was dormant, but with the developments in the Balkans, it is
taking on some real substance. The situation in southeastern Europe will soon
require the formation of a new Balkan alliance of Orthodox countries, including
Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece, in order to resist the encroachment of Islam.
With the disappearance of the Soviet threat, the unnatural alliance between
Greece and Turkey becomes essentially meaningless. The conflicts intensify
between them over the Aegean Sea, Cyprus, their military balance, their roles
in NATO and the European Union, and their relations with the United States. The
Balkans again partitioned along the religious lines. Two axes are emerging, one
dressed in the garb of Eastern orthodoxy, one veiled in Islamic raiment and the
possibility exists of an ever-greater struggle for influence between the
Belgrade/Athens axis and the Albanian/Turkish alliance. (The Clash of
Civilization, p.126-7)" In the former Soviet Union, Orthodox Belarus,
Moldova, and Ukraine gravitate toward Russia. Orthodox unity was cemented by
the fact that the Vatican and Germany were the first to incite Catholic Croatia
to separate from Yugoslavia. The barbaric bombing of Orthodox Belgrade by
Catholic and Protestant nations resulted in Serbia joining the union of Russia
and Belarus. Because of this Serbia joining the Belarus and Russia Union, the
Russian Navy would secure a foothold in the warm water ports of the Adriatic
Sea. Once Greece joins the orthodox alliance; Russia would again become a
significant European military power. Under Serb Generals, the Russian Army
would become a lethal military force again. Geopolitical balance would shift in
favor of Orthodoxy, once Greece leaves NATO to join an alliance with Serbia,
Bulgaria and Russia. It would result in the dismemberment of Turkey and the
birth of the Kurdistan State.
(13) East Asia
Economic Caucus (EAEC)
There is a
concerted effort to isolate India in Asia. Asian American pacific alliance
includes China and excludes India. ASIAN nations have expanded to include
Burma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, have deliberately excluded India. Association
of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), resulted out of India led Bandung
Conference. India should militarily foil attempts of ASEAN to isolate India.
India should intervene in Burma and establish a Buddhist government of Burma.
India should also intervene in Cambodia and establish a Buddhist government in
Laos and Cambodia. Whatever is common among the nations of Asia, is the Indian
component of their cultures. One cannot turn from this geo-cultural fact. Japan
has failed to develop a Yen Bloc to balance the West European Union and NAFTA.
The Collapse of the Asian tiger economies suggests that without the
participation of India no economic union would succeed in Asia.
(14) RCD-ECO-ACM
In 1977 the
Regional Cooperation for Development, RCD established by Pakistan, Iran and
Turkey. In 1985 RCD was revived and renamed Economic Cooperation Organization,
agreements were subsequently reached on tariff reductions and a variety of
other measures. In 1992, ECO membership expanded to include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan,
Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan. In 1991, the
five Central Asian republics of Ujbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan,
Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan signed an agreement to allow the free circulation
of goods, services and capital, and to coordinate their fiscal, monetary and
tariff policies. The Shah of Iran had proposed the Asian Common Market (ACM),
to include Iran, India, Pakistan and perhaps Turkey. Kazakhstan had proposed
Asian Collective Security. India should actively participate in regional
organizations of Central Asia. NATO is planning to expand toward Central to
include Central Asian Muslim republics. British-Indian Empire would have gone
to war with Russia but for the 1907 Pamir Settlement, which defined the Amur
River as the border separating Indian and Russian empires. Cultural and racial
links bind India with Central Asia. The involvement of Afghan mercenaries in
Kashmir justifies direct Indian military involvement in Afghanistan.
India-Pakistan war over Kashmir will settle in Afghanistan. The roots of
economic cooperation are in cultural commonality. (The Clash of Civilization,
p.135)
(15) NACP Union
(NASP)
American
thinker Samuel P. Huntington, proposes expanding NAFTA into a North
American-South pacific (NASP) arrangement including the United States, Canada,
Australia, and New Zealand. Such grouping would reconcile culture and economics
and provide a solid and enduring identify for Australia that will not come from
futile efforts to make Australia Asian. (The Clash, p.154) The foreign policy
of Christian nations in the late 20th century explains their concern of Asian
invasions of Australia and New Zealand. Englishmen handed over Apartheid South
Africa, Namibia, and Rhodesia to Blacks to win their silence over Anglo-Saxon
occupation of Australia and New Zealand. Christian nations handed over Jaya
Irian and Christian East Timor to Indonesia to keep Australia and New Zealand
out of harms way. Chinese invasions of Australia would unleash the World War of
Civilizations in the early twenty-first century.
(16) Catholicism
Eastern Frontiers:
During the
Cold War, Europe as a whole did not exist. Catholic Poland, Hungary, East
Germany and Czech Republic were in the Warsaw Pact. Establishing the eastern
borders of the Catholic-Protestant civilizations has been the principal
challenges confronting the West in the post-Cold War world. Who is a European
and hence as potential member of the European Union, and NATO? The most
compelling and pervasive answer to this question is provided by, the great
historical line that has existed for centuries separating Catholic-Protestant
Christianity from Orthodoxy and Sunni. This line dates back to the division of
the Roman Empire in the fourth century and to the creation of the Holy Roman
Empire in the tenth century. It has been in roughly its current place for at
least five hundred years. Beginning in the north, it runs along the borders
between Russia and Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania. The Eastern boundary
separates western Belarus from Orthodox eastern Belarus, separates Uniate West
Ukraine from Orthodox eastern Ukraine, and separates Transylvania Romania with
Catholic Hungarian population from Orthodox eastern Romania. The eastern
boundary separates Catholic Slovenia and Catholic Croatia from Orthodox Serbia,
Montenegro, and Muslim Bosnia. In the Balkans, this line coincides with the
historical division between the Austro-Hungarian and Ottoman empires. It is the
cultural border of Europe. In the post-Cold War world, it is also the political
and economic border of West and the East.
The
Civilization’s paradigm thus provides a clear-cut and compelling answer to the
question, confronting west Europeans: Where does Europe end? Europe ends where
Western Christianity ends, and Islam and Orthodoxy begins. It is necessary to
recognize the distinction, blurred during the Soviet years, between Central
Europe and Mittleuropa and Eastern Europe proper. Central Europe includes
Austria, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland and eastern Germany. The term Eastern
Europe should be reserved for nations under Orthodox Church, European part of
the Soviet Union, Bulgaria and Romania, and Balkan Orthodox Serbia, Montenegro
and Macedonia.
(17) New Fault
Line:
A new fault
line is emerging, a basically cultural divide between Western Europe marked by
western Christianity (Roman Catholic or Protestant), on the one hand, and the
Eastern Europe marked by eastern Christianity, on the other. The new cultural
division in Europe is replacing the Iron Curtain as the ancient cultural fault
line between East Europe and West Europe. It places the lands of the former
Austro-Hungarian Empire, as well as Poland and the Baltic States within the
Western Europe. It places the Balkan Orthodox countries in the Eastern Europe.
This is a great religious divide between the Eastern and Western Churches.
Broadly speaking, between those people who received their Christianity from
Rome directly or through Celtic or German intermediaries, and those in the East
and Southeast to whom it came through Constantinople (Byzantine). (The Clash,
p.160)
(18) Expansion of
European Union:
The
identification of Europe with Western Christendom provides some clear criteria
for the admission of new members to European Union (EU). The European Union
would ultimately accept Visegrad states (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia,
Hungary), the Baltic republics (Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia), and Balkan states
(Slovenia, Croatia) and Malta as new members. The European Union (EU) would not
accept Romania and Bulgaria as new members.
(19) Russian
Adriatic Sea Bases:
The NATO
invasions of Serbia, has pushed the Orthodox Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia
in the Eastern Europe. Russia imposed the Peace settlement on Serbia because it
legitimizes the Russian presence on the Serbia soil. Serbia-Yugoslavia has
joined the Belarus-Russia Union. NATO offered Russia a sphere of influence in
Orthodox Balkan Serbia, Montenegro in exchange for the loss of Russian
influence in Catholic central Europe. NATO dangled the carrot to Bulgaria and
Romania to secure their support in the encirclement of Serbia, during NATO
bombing raids. The Vatican would resist any NATO and European Union attempts to
bring in any Orthodox nation into its fold.
(20) Rebirth of Greek Civilization
The Cold War
antagonist of the Soviet Union is evolving into the post-Cold War ally of
Russia. Greece is not part of Western civilization, but it was the home of
classical civilization, which was an important source of Western civilization.
Greece is also an anomaly, the orthodox outsider in Western organization.
Greece has never been an easy member, of either the EU or NATO. The behavior of
Greece, as the President of the European Union Council in 1994 exasperated
other members and Western European officials privately label its membership a
mistake. Greece has mutual interests with Russia in opposition to their common
enemy, Turkey. It has permitted Russia to establish a significant presence in
Greek Cyprus. Because of their shared Orthodox religion, the Greek Cypriots
have welcomed both Russians and Serbs to the Island. Overall, Greek foreign
policy has assumed a heavily pro-Orthodox orientation. (The Clash, p.163) The
Vatican's goal is to transform the European union into Holy Roman Empire as a
bastion to promote Christianity under Papal leadership. The Vatican would
engineer the isolation of Greece in NATO and European Union, exacerbating Greek
dissatisfaction with the Catholic-Protestant alliance. Russia may also gain a
foothold in Greece.
(21) Christianizing of Kosovo & Bosnia:
The Vatican
would not be happy with Turkey participation in NATO. As happened in Vietnam,
South Korea and the Philippines, the presence of NATO troops in Kosovo and
Bosnia would lure Muslim women into prostitution and convert numerous women from
Albania and Bosnia into Catholic Christianity. Prostitution around military
bases and marriages with soldiers for emigration, the majority of women from
Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia would expedite conversions to Christianity. Sicilian
Catholic gangs would also force Muslim women into prostitution. It is possible
that the Islamic foothold in Kosovo and Bosnia would get absorbed in the
Catholic fold via intermarriage.
(22) Orthodoxy Rule in Istanbul:
Ideally
Istanbul/ Constantinople should be the northern frontier of the Islamic Turkey.
Russian foothold in Serbia and Montenegro would wet Russian appetite for
Constantinople/ Istanbul in the event Kurds succeed in destabilizing Turkey.
NATO invasions in Kosovo provided Russia with a foothold on the Adriatic coast.
The Kurds rebellion in Turkey would give Russia a foothold in the strategic
strait connecting Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and Istanbul/
Constantinople. Russia comes out a clear winner in the Balkan War.
(23) New Russian
Orthodox Bloc:
Overall
Russia is creating a bloc with an Orthodox heartland under its leadership. A
surrounding buffer of relatively weak Islamic states, which it (Russia) will in
varying degrees dominate and from which it will attempt to exclude the
influence of other powers. Russia also expects the world to accept and to
approve this system. Foreign governments and international organizations (as
Boris Yeltsin said on February 1993) need to grant Russia special powers as a
guarantor of peace and stability in the former regions of the USSR. While the
Soviet Union was a superpower with global interests, Russia continues to be a
major power with regional and Civilization’s interests. (S.P. Huntington, The
Clash of Civilization, p.164)
(24) Russia &
Central Asia":
The successor
to the Czar and Communist empire is a Civilization’s bloc. At the core, Russia
links to an inner circle of Belarus and Moldova, Kazakhstan and Armenia.
Belarus have little sense of national identity. Belarus in effect is a part of
Russia in all but a name. The Russians constitute the 40 percent population of
Kazakhstan. Georgia is overwhelmingly Orthodox. Armenia has historically
identified its interests with Russia. Russia has prided itself as the defender
of Armenia against its Muslim neighbors. The strategic interests of Armenia and
Russia converge. Georgia was an independent country until 1801 when its ruler,
King George XIII, asked for Russian protection against Turk. Serb request for
Russian help against NATO invasions may result into Serbia becoming a part of
Russia. President Gamasakhurdia of Georgia was violently overthrown. President
Eduard A. Shevardnadze faced the separatist movement in Abkhazia. Emulating
King George, he concluded that he did not have a great choice. Georgia joined
CIS in 1994.
(25) India-Russia
in Central Asia
India and
Russia should chart out common policies toward Muslim republics of Central
Asia. India made a great strategic mistake, when it failed to militarily
supporting Soviet invasions of Afghanistan. Afghan operations would have
allowed Indian Protectorate over Afghanistan. India should send military troops
to Tajikistan to overthrow Pakistan support Taliban Regime of Afghanistan.
India should secure military bases at Armenia and Georgia to support Kurds in
Turkey. India, Russia and Iran should join hands to carve out Kurdistan in
Turkey. It would secure Istanbul for Russians and control over the gateway to
Mediterranean Sea for Russian Navy. Independent Kurdistan would revive the land
route taken by Alexander that connected Greece to India. Russian support for
Kurdistan would be a fitting reply for NATO invasions on Serbia. Serbia's
warriors would avenge their defeat in Kosovo on the battlegrounds of Kurdistan.
India and Russia should promote Asian Collective Security in Central Asia.
India should sign a Defense Pact with Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan should develop
closer economic and military relations with Buddhist Mongolia with Indian help.
India-Kazakhstan Pact would incite Muslim rebellion in Xinjian-Sinkiang.
(26) Russia &
Black Sea Fault Line:
The
Civilization’s fault line between the West and Orthodoxy runs through its heart
and has done so for centuries. In Moldova the secessionist movement started in
the Russified east Moldova, to check the sentiments of western Moldova's merger
with Romania to create Trans Dniester Republic. Moldova has joined CIS. At
times in the past, western Ukraine was apart of Poland, Lithuania, and
Austro-Hungarian Empire. A large portion of west Ukraine population, speaks
Ukrainian, and follows the Uniate Church. The Uniate Church practices Orthodox
rites but acknowledges the authority of the Pope. The people of eastern Ukraine
are overwhelmingly Orthodox and speak Russian. The Crimea is seventy (70)
percent Russian. Russia has close relationship with Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia
and Cyprus. Russia has and somewhat no so good relations with Romania. Serbia
has joined the Russia and Belarus Union. India should develop close military
relations with Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria. Indian military bases on the Black
Sea ports would secure supply routes to Kurds in Turkey.
(27) Nuclear Bombs Equalizers
The nuclear
weapons during Cold War caused the fragmentation of the international system,
in which great powers play a reduced role. The role of the nuclear weapons for
the West in the post-Cold War world is thus the opposite of that during the
Cold War. During Cold War, the western nuclear weapons compensated for Western
conventional inferiority vis-à-vis the Soviet Union. The western nuclear
weapons were the equalizers. In the post-Cold War world, the United States has
unmatched conventional military power, and now Russian nuclear weapons equalize
Western conventional superiority. United States has unmatched conventional
military power, and now India its potential adversary has deployed nuclear
weapons. Western nuclear powers would end up being the equalizee in the
twenty-first century.
Now Russia
has emphasized the role of nuclear weapons in its defense planning. Now Russia
says after the Cold War that it needs nuclear weapons to compensate for Western
conventional superiority. This is exactly what America used to tell Russia in
1950s. During Cold War, the United States for the purpose of nuclear deterrent
refused to renounce the first use of nuclear weapons. In keeping with the new
deterrent functions of nuclear weapons in the post-Cold War world, Russia in
1993 in effect renounced the previous Soviet commitment to no-first-use.
Simultaneously China in developing its post-Cold War nuclear strategy of limited
deterrence also began to question and to weaken its 1964 no-first use
commitment. (The Clash, p.187)
India should
follow the example of China and Russia, and should weaken its commitment to the
policy of no first use of nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons have been the
weapons by which the weak compensate for conventional inferiority. Indian
nuclear doctrine should equivocally state its response to the threat of
civilian bombing. During Infrastructure warfare, launched by enemy’s Air Force
and Navy, India will use tactical nuclear weapons against aircraft carrier
fleet.
4(6) Chinese Invasions of Australia, Indonesia
(1) Greater China
Greater China
is thus not simply an abstract concept. It is a rapidly growing cultural and
economic reality and has begun to become a political one. The economy of East
Asia is increasingly China-centered and Chinese-dominated. Chinese from Hong
Kong, Taiwan and Singapore have supplied much of the capital responsible for
the growth of the mainland in the 1990s. Overseas Chinese elsewhere in
Southeast Asia dominates the economies of these countries. In the early 1990,
Chinese made up 1 percent of the population of the Philippines but were
responsible for 35 percent of sales of domestically owned firms. In Indonesia
in mid 1980s, ethnic Chinese population was 2-3 percent of the total
population, but owned roughly 70 percent of the private domestic capital.
Seventeen of the twenty-five largest businesses were Chinese controlled. In
early 1990s, the ethnic Chinese populations was 10 percent of the population of
Thailand, but owned nine of the ten largest business groups, and were
responsible for 50 percent of its GNP. Chinese are about one-third of the
population of Malaysia but almost totally dominate the economy. Outside Japan and
Korea, the East Asian economy is a Chinese economy. (The Clash of Civilization,
p.170) India should support Buddhist Chinese become the Prime Minister of
Malaysia as ethnic Chinese is 33 percent of the population. India should
support ethnic Chinese Buddhist, to become the President of Indonesia and the
President of the Philippines. Chinese control the economy of Southeast Asia so
it is natural that ethnic Chinese should acquire political power in Southeast
Asia. The Vatican is conspiring to implant White Catholic Sonia Gandhi as the
future prime minister of India. India should retaliate by supporting ethnic
Chinese as the head of governments in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
India should retaliate by promoting a Muslim or Hindu Prime minister of Italy
or mayor of Rome.
(2) China is Threat to World Peace
The rise of
China is the potential source of a big inter-Civilization’s war of core states.
The history of Western Civilization is a history of the hegemonic wars between
rising and falling powers. The missing hegemonic war in Western history is that
between Great Britain and the United States. Presumably, the peaceful shift
from Pax-Britannica to the Pax-Americana was in large part due to the close
cultural kinship of the two societies. The absence of such kinship in the
shifting power balance between the West and China does not make armed conflict
certain but does make it more probable. While bandwagoning may be more common a
characteristic of Asian civilizations, the rise of Chinese could generate
balancing efforts from states in other civilizations, such as the United
States, India and Russia. (The Clash of Civilization, p.209)
(3) Chinese Invasions of Siberia:
The economic
dynamism of China has spilled over to Siberia. Russians in Siberia increasingly
see their economic future connected to East Asia rather than to European
Russia. More threatening for Russia is Chinese immigration into Siberia, with
illegal migrants there purportedly numbering in 1995 three (3) millions to five
(5) millions, compared to a Russian population of about seven (7) millions. The
Chinese are in the process of making a peaceful conquest of Russian Far East,
Russian Defense Minister Pavel Grachev warned. Russia must resist Chinese
expansionism, warn Russian immigration officials. Chinese expansion via
immigration could also become expansion by the military, if China decided that
it should attempt to reclaim Mongolia, which the Russians detached from China
after World War I, and which was for decades a satellite. At some point, the
yellow hordes, which have haunted Russian imagination since the Mongol
invasions, may again become a reality. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 243).
United States is goading China to invade Siberia to divert Chinese invasions of
Australia. United States has transferred sensitive nuclear weapon designs of
neutron Bombs, Trident II missile warheads to China to help China upgrade its
nuclear weapons, nuclear missiles at par with that of the United States.
Chinese nuclear deterrent would now deter Russian nuclear retaliation for
Chinese conventional invasions of Siberia. United Sates wants that China should
use stolen American nuclear weapon warhead technology, to launch massive
invasions of Eastern Siberia. Only India could help Russia check Chinese invasions
of Siberia. Russia should immediately allow the immigration of more than five
(5) million Indians in Eastern Siberia, to match more than five (5) millions
migrant illegal Chinese workers in Siberia. Russia should deploy five (5)
million Indians, mercenary soldiers as well as workers, in Mongolia and Eastern
Siberia along Chinese frontier.
(4) China Plan
Hegemony in Asia
Every major
power Britain and France, Germany and Japan, the United States and the Soviet
Union, are engaged in outward expansion, assertion, and imperialism,
coincidental with or immediately following the years it underwent rapid
industrialization and economic growth. No reason exists to think that the
acquisition of economic and military power will not have comparable effects in
China. For two thousand years, China was the preeminent power in East Asia.
Chinese increasingly assert their intention to resume that historic role and to
being to an end the overlong century of humiliation and subordination to the
West and Japan that began with British imposition of the Treaty of Nanking in
1842. (The Clash of Civilization, p.229)
(5) USA-China Conflict
The conflicts
between the United States and China also involved fundamental issues of power.
China is unwilling to accept American leadership or hegemony in the world. The
United States is unwilling to accept Chinese leadership or hegemony in Asia.
For more than two hundred years, the United States has attempted to prevent the
emergence of an overwhelmingly dominant power in Europe. For almost a hundred
years, beginning with Open Door policy toward China, the United States has
attempted to do the same in China. To achieve these goals it has fought two
world wars and a cold war against Imperial Germany, Nazi Germany, Imperial
Japan, the Communist Soviet Union and the Communist China. China as the
dominant regional power in East Asia challenges American interests. The
underlying cause of conflict between America and China is their basic
difference over what should be the future balance of power in East Asia. (The
Clash of Civilization, p.228-9)
(6) Cold Peace or Civilizations Cold War
Civilizations
are the ultimate human tribes, and the clash of civilizations is a tribal
conflict on a global scale. Connections between states of different civilizations
inherited from the past, such as Cold war military alliances, are likely to
attenuate or evaporate. Hopes of inter-Civilization’s partnerships will remain
unrealized. Emerging inter-Civilization’s relations would approximate a
condition of Cold Peace that Boris Yeltsin warned could be the future of
relations between Russia and the West. Cold peace, cold war, trade war. Quasi
war, uneasy peace, troubled relations, intense rivalry, competitive
coexistence, and arms races: these phrases are the most probable descriptions
of relations between entities from different civilizations. Trust and
friendship will be rare. (The Clash of Civilization, p.207)
(7) India-China
Defense Pact:
India should
explore a defense pact with China. India and China should join hands to promote
Chinese Buddhism, Mahayana Buddhism and Taoism in the world. India and China
are the core states of Asia, Buddhist and Hindu world. Hindu world and Buddhist
worlds should support Orthodox World, to reestablish the Civilization’s balance
of power between Western Christendom and Eastern Orthodoxy. India should devote
more resources on developing relations with nations it has Civilization’s links
than with nations it does not share Civilization’s links. Looking from the
perspective of common civilizations, India and China would be close friends and
allies in near future. Civilization’s links would determine India-China
relationship in the age of civilization’s wars. Common Civilization’s links
brought Germany into military alliance with France and Germany. Chinese
Buddhism the Mahayana Buddhism is 85% similar to Hinduism, its scriptures were
written in Sanskrit, and it grew as a Hindu Brahamanical challenge to the
Theravada Buddhism. India should focus on developing relations with nations
that link common civilizations. India should cultivate close relations with
Pakistan and other south Asian nations. India should develop close relations
with fellow Aryan nations, Iran, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan,
Kyrgyztan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan. India should develop close relations
with Buddhist nations of Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore,
Taipei, South Korea, North Korea and Japan. India should develop close
relations with Kurds who are of Aryan origin and speak Indo-Iranian language.
India should also develop close relations with nations having sizeable Indian
origin population, namely Fiji, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, etc.
4(7) Islamic Civilization’s wars
(1) CIA Agent Kemal Pasha Ataturk
The West
imposed Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on Turkey, as they had imposed Christian Sun
Yatsen on Buddhist China. Kemal Ataturk attempted to root out the Islamic and
Ottoman legacy from Turkey, so that Turkey may not again threaten West
Christendom. Rejecting the idea of a multi-national Islamic empire, Kemal aimed
to produce a homogeneous pro-Western state, by expelling and killing Kurds,
Armenians and Greeks, in the typical ethnic-cleansing pattern. It is no wonder
that the nationalists promoted by West in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Israel, Bosnia, Kosovo,
and Croatia carried out a similar ethnic cleansing policy. Kemal abolished the
caliphate, the central source of religious authority, abolished religious
schools, and abolished religious courts. Kemal abolished the traditional
calendar with the Gregorian calendar. Kemal decreed that Turkey adopt Roman
script than Arabic script. The West began viewing Turkey as the West’s eastern
bulwark of containment, preventing the expansion of the Soviet Union toward the
Mediterranean. Hindu and Orthodox civilization should support the Islamic
forces in Turkey to overthrow the Pro-West secular rule. Hindu India should
support Muslim Aryan Kurds and Turki Muslims to overthrow the pro-West Turkey,
to partition Turkey into Islamic Turkey, Orthodox Asia Minor, and Kurdistan.
(2)
Islam-Christianity at War:
The
twentieth-century Cold War conflict between Liberal Democracy and
Marxist-Leninism is only a fleeting and superficial historical phenomenon
compared to continuing and deeply conflicting relations between Islam and
Christianity. The initial Arab-Islamic sweep outward from the early seventh
(7th) to the mid eighth (8th) century (600-750), established Muslim rule in
North Africa, Iberia, the Middle East and Persia. For two centuries (800-1000)
or so the lines of division between Islam and Christianity stabilized. Then in
the late eleventh (11th) century Christians reasserted control of the western
Mediterranean, conquered Sicily, and captured Toledo. In 1095, Christians
launched the Crusades. For a century and a half Christian potentates attempted,
with decreasing success, to establish Christian rule in the Holy Land and
adjoining areas in the Near East, losing Acre, their last foothold there, in
1291. Ottoman Turks first weakened Byzantine and then conquered most of the
Balkans as well as North Africa, captured Constantinople in 1453, and besieged
Vienna in 1529. The spread of Islam in the seventh century was accompanied by
massive migrations of Arab peoples, the scale and speed of which was
unprecedented, into the lands of the Byzantine and Sassanian Empires. The
Ottomans made one last push besieging Vienna again in 1683. For almost a
thousand years from the first Moorish landing in Spain to the second Turkish
siege of Vienna (1683), Europe was under a constant threat from Islam. Islam is
the only civilization, which has put the survival of the West in doubt, and it
has done that at least twice in 1529 and 1683. The Christians gradually
recovered Iberia, completing the task at Granada in 1492. In the course of a
century, the Ottoman Empire the scourge of Christendom transformed into the
sick man of Europe.
(3) Afghan
Waterloo of Cold War:
To Americans
and Westerners Afghanistan was the final, decisive victory, the Waterloo of the
Cold War. The Afghan War started as an effort by the Soviet Union to sustain a
satellite regime. It became a Cold-War war, when the United States reacted
vigorously and organized, funded, and equipped the Afghan insurgents resisting
the Soviet forces. For Americans, Soviet defeat was vindication of the Reagan
doctrine of promoting armed resistance to communist regimes. Afghan defeat was
a reassuring humiliation of the Soviets comparable to that which the United
States had suffered in Vietnam. Afghan defeat was also a defeat whose
ramifications spread throughout Soviet society and its political establishment.
It contributed significantly to the disintegration of the Soviet Empire. (The
Clash of Civilization, p.246) Russia should avenge this defeat in Afghanistan
by defeating Islam and NATO by militarily supporting Kurd rebels in Turkey, to
give birth to sovereign Kurdistan, ruled by Aryan Kurds. By liberating Kurdish
civilization from oppressive Islamic Turkish and Arab rule, the Orthodox Russia
would take a sweat revenge of the conquest of Orthodox Byzantine Empire at
Constantinople.
(4) Afghanistan
Victory for Islam:
The Afghan
War became a civilization war because Muslims everywhere saw it as such and
rallied against the Soviet Union. Afghanistan War was the first successful
resistance to a foreign power, not based on either nationalist or socialist
principles, but based instead on Islamic principles. It was a resistance waged
as a jihad, which gave tremendous boosts to Islamic self-confidence and power.
Its impact on the Islamic world was, in effect, comparable to the impact, which
the Japanese defeat of the Russians in 1905 had on the Oriental world. What the
West sees as a victory for the Free World, Muslims see as a victory for Islam.
American dollars and missiles were indispensable to the defeat of the Soviets.
Also indispensable was the collective effort of Islam, in which a variety of
governments and groups competed with each other in attempting to defeat the
Soviets and to produce a victory that would serve their interests. In the end,
the three factors defeated the Soviet troops they could not effectively equal
or counter: American technology, Saudi money, and Muslim demographics and zeal.
(The Clash of Civilization, p.247)
(5) Destroy
Mujahideens Militarily:
Afghan
Mujahideen fighters have infiltrated in Kashmir and have engaged Indian armed
forces. India should give a fitting reply to Islamic fundamentalism by
militarily conquering a fundamentalist nation and impose secular democratic
rule, where women would enjoy equal power over man. India should also develop
religious armies of Hindu and Buddhist warriors who would engage Islamic forces
to win victory for Hinduism and Buddhism. India should deploy troops in
Afghanistan and militarily protect the rights of women and develop a secular society.
India should also send troops to Algeria and militarily destroy fundamentalist
terrorists. Islam has become a threat to world peace. India alone can intervene
in Iran to reestablish the monarchy headed by the son of Shah of Iran. Islam is
no match to the might of Hindu India.
(6) Barbarian
Afghan Syndrome:
The Afghan
war left behind an uneasy coalition of fundamentalist Islamic organizations
intent on promoting Islam against all non-Muslim forces. It also left a legacy
of expert and experienced fighters, camps, training grounds, and logistical
facilities. It left elaborate Trans-Islam networks of personal and
organizational relationships, a substantial amount of military equipment
including 300 to 500 unaccounted-for Stinger missiles. It gave a heady sense of
power and self-confidence and a driving desire to move onto other victories.
The jihad credentials, religious and political of the Afghan volunteers are
impeccable; they beat one of the superpowers. (The Clash, p.247) Afghan
Mujahideen are a threat to India as it combines the Islamic jihad
fundamentalism, with the combat experience, and the drug trade of the Golden
Crescent. The political alliance of terrorism, drug trade, Islamic jihad
spirit, with the Catholic world and United States threatens the security of
democratic secular societies. India should undertake military missions in
Islamic nations to overthrow the fundamentalist regimes. India should also
create the independent state of Kurdistan by carving out Turkey and Iraq.
Indian military bases in Kurdistan would project the military power of India to
the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea.
4(8) Western View of India’s Role in Civilization’s war
(1) India-China
Rivalry
China has
actively involved itself in south Asian politics and presumably will continue
to do so. Leading politicians and trade union leaders are on Chinese pay roll
and they have intentionally subverted capitalist policies in India, otherwise
the foreign investments going to China could go to India. China controlled
Indian trade union movement sabotaged Indian industrial climate. India should
retaliate by promoting Buddhism and Taoism in China. Religion will overthrow
the atheist government in China. China transferred nuclear weapons and nuclear
technology to Pakistan. China is developing naval facilities in Myanmar-Burma
in Great Coco Islands. The underlying power rivalry between the two Asian
giants, and their self-images as natural great powers and centers of
civilization and culture will continue to drive them to support different
countries and causes. India will strive to emerge, not only as an independent
power center in the multipolar world, but also as a counterweight to Chinese
power and influence. Confronting a broader Chinese Communist-Islamic alliance
promotes India-Russia relationship. Over time, the cooling of US-Pakistan
relations and their common interest in containing China are likely to bring the
United States and India closer together. The expansion of Indian power in
Southern Asia cannot harm US interests and could serve them. (The Clash of
Civilization, p.244)
(2) Doubling Per Capita Output:
It took
Britain (58) fifty-eight years and the United States (47) forty-seven years, to
double their per capita output. Japan doubled its per capita output in (33)
thirty-three years, Indonesia in (17) seventeen years, South Korea in eleven
(11) years and China in ten (10) years. The Chinese Economic Area the World
Bank declared in 1993, had become the world’s fourth growth pole, along with
the United States, Japan, and Germany. Chinese economy will become the world’s
largest economy early in the twenty-first century. Asia is likely to have four
(4) of five (5), and seven (7) of the ten (10), largest economies of the world
by AD 2020.
(3) Failure of Chinese Communism
Chinese
leadership moved away from the Soviet model in the late 1970s, due to the
failure of communism to produce economic development, and the success of
capitalism in Japan. The Chinese Christians advocated the wholesale
Westernization. The Western orientation did not command the support of the 800
million Buddhist-Taoist peasants who lived in the countryside. Chinese
communist leadership instead chose a new version of T-Yong: capitalism and
involvement in the world economy, on the one hand, combined with political
authoritarianism and recommitment to traditional Chinese culture. In place of
the revolutionary legitimacy of Marxist-Leninism, the Chinese regime
substituted legitimacy provided by surging economic characteristics of Chinese
culture. The post-Tiananmen regime has eagerly embraced Chinese nationalism as
newly found legitimacy.
(4) Confucianism versus Buddhism:
In 1980s, the
Chinese communists began to promote interest in Confucianism as the mainstay of
Chinese culture to woo Chinese intelligentsia peasants away Buddhism and
Taoism. Christian Harry Lee was the best bloody Englishman east of Suez.
Solomon Bhandarnaike of Sri Lanka was raised a Christian. Vatican wanted to use
Harry lee to promote the Westernization of Singapore and China, to wean Chinese
away from Buddhism and Taoism. Both camouflaged changed their Christian
identities, names, dress, and beliefs. Harry Lee became Lee Kuan Yew. The
Anglofied Lee learned Mandarin and became an articulate promoter of
Confucianism as an antidote to Buddhism and Taoism. The Christian Bandarnaike
converted to Buddhism and appealed to anti-Tamil, Simhala nationalism, to
destroy Hindu influence over Sri Lanka.
(5) Westernized Jinnah, Lee, Sun Yatsen
English
lawyer M.A. Jinnah, was thoroughly Westernized, a committed secularist, and
under the instructions of the Vatican became the fervent apostle of Islam as
the basis for the Pakistan State, to deny Hindu influence in Pakistan. The
legitimization of Confucianism as the sole anchor of Chinese civilization undermines
the influence of Buddhism and Taoism. The Christian promoters of Confucianism,
denigrate Taoism as superstition, and chastise Buddhism as foreign import. The
Vatican hired Jew Karl Marx to produce the iconoclastic philosophy to destroy
Orthodoxy. The Vatican spy Sun Yatsen condemned Confucianism as the source of
Chinese backwardness to overthrow the Chinese Buddhist monarchy.
The Vatican
spy Harry Lee turned Lee Kwan Yew have reinvented Confucianism as the source of
Chinese progress, to ward of the growing influence of Buddhism and Taoism in
China. It is no wonder that Communist china has banned the Buddhist Law and
Falun Gong religious sect in China. Christian Taiwanese government also
declared itself an inheritor of Confucian thought. Communists are supporting
Christianity as Christian organizations and Christian proselytizing offer an
alternative Western faith to fill the void left by the collapse of the Western
Maoist-Leninism. Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism are the common enemies of
Christianity and Communism.
4(9) Civilization’s war by the West in AD 2010
(1) China as Dominant Asian Power:
A global war
involving the core states of the major civilizations is highly improbable but
possible. A more dangerous source of a global civilization’s war is the
shifting balance of power between civilizations and their core states. If it
continues, the rise of China and the increasing assertiveness of this biggest
player in the history of man will place tremendous stress on international
stability in the early twenty-first century. The emergence of China as the
dominant power in East and Southeast Asia would be contrary to American
interests as have been historically construed. Given this American interest,
how might war between the United States and China develop? Assume the year is
2010. (The Clash of Civilization, p.312-318)
We are
outlining briefly the American perspective as how 2010 would look like, as
outlined by professor Huntington. It will help us understand the motives of the
West. We should then suggest the suitable responses of the Hindu, Buddhist, and
Islamic and Orthodox civilizations. Assume the year is 2010. American troops
are out of Korea. Korea has reunified. The United States has a greatly reduced
military presence in Japan.
Taiwan and Mainland
China have reached an accommodation in which Taiwan continues to have most of
its de facto independence but explicitly acknowledges suzerainty of Beijing.
With Chinese sponsorship, Taiwan admitted to the United Nations on the model of
Ukraine and Byelorussia in 1946. (The Clash of Civilization, p.313)
(2) South China
Oil:
The
development of the oil resources in the South China Sea has proceeded apace,
largely under Chinese auspices. American companies develop certain areas in
South China Sea still under Vietnamese control. Chinese confidence boosted by
its new power projection capabilities, China announces that it will establish
full control of the entire South China Sea, all of which. It has always claimed
sovereignty. The Vietnamese resist and fighting occurs between Chinese and
Vietnamese warships. The Chinese, eager to revenge their 1979 humiliation,
invade Vietnam. The Vietnamese appeal for American assistance. The United
States says that it cannot accept Chinese conquest of Vietnam, and calls for
economic sanctions against China, and dispatches its carrier task force to the
South China Sea. China launches air strikes against the US carrier task force.
Chinese ground, forces enter Hanoi and occupy large portions of Vietnam. Japan
prohibits the use of U.S. bases in Japan, and announces its neutrality and
quarantines the bases. Chinese submarines and land-based aircraft impose
serious damage on U.S. ships and facilities in East Asia. (The Clash of
Civilization, p. 313)
(3)
China-Iran-Pakistan Alliance:
The military
alliance between Pakistan, Iran, and China activated in the India-Pakistan war
and Iran comes to assist Pakistan with modern and sophisticated military
forces. India bogged down fighting Iranian troops and Pakistani guerrillas from
several different ethnic groups. India warns Arab states of the danger of
Iranian dominance of Southwest Asia. The initial successes of China against the
United States have stimulated major anti-Western movements in Muslim societies.
The pro-Western Arab countries and Turkey, would be become victims of Islamic
movements. The anti-Western surge provoked by Western weakness leads to a
massive Arab attack on Israel, which the U.S. Sixth Fleet is unable to stop.
(The Clash of Civilization, p.314)
(4) Japan-China Alliance:
JAPAN:
Despite its extensive investment in nuclear energy, Japanese economy is still
dependent on oil imports. This dependence on foreign oil strengthens Japanese
inclination to accommodate China and insure its flow of oil from the Persian
Gulf, Indonesia, and the South China Sea. As China scores military successes,
Japan nervously begins to bandwagon with China, shifting its position from
formal neutrality to pro-Chinese positive neutrality and then yielding to
Chinese demands and becoming a co-belligerent. Japanese forces occupy the
remaining U.S. bases in Japan and the United States hastily evacuates its
troops. The United States declares a blockade of Japan, and American and
Japanese ships engage in sporadic duels in the Western Pacific. (The Clash of
Civilization, p. 314)
RUSSIA: At
the start of the war, China proposed a mutual security pact with Russia
(vaguely reminiscent of the Hitler-Stalin pact). Chinese successes however have
just the opposite effect on Russia than they had on Japan. The prospect of
Chinese victory and total Chinese dominance in East Asia terrifies Moscow. As
Russia moves in an anti-Chinese direction and begins to reinforce its troops in
Siberia, the numerous Chinese settlers in Siberia interfere with these
movements. China intervenes militarily to protect its countrymen and occupies
Vladivostock, the Amur River valley, and other key-parts of eastern Siberia. As
fighting spreads between Russia and Chinese troops in central Siberia,
uprisings occur in Mongolia, which China had earlier placed under a
protectorate. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 314)
RUSSIA AND
GULF: During the war, Arab countries come under the control of Islamic
militants, Persian Gulf oil supplies to the West diminish to a trickle and the
West consequently becomes increasingly dependent on Russian, Caucasian, and
Central Asian sources. This leads the West to intensify its efforts to enlist
Russia on its side, and to support Russia in extending its control over the
oil-rich Muslim countries to its south. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 315)
(5) Islamic Nuclear Threat:
The United
States has been eagerly attempting to mobilize the full support of its European
allies. While extending diplomatic and economic assistance, they were reluctant
to become involved militarily. China and Iran, however, are fearful that
Western countries will eventually rally behind the United States, as the United
States eventually came to the support of the Britain and France in two world
wars. To prevent this Iran secretly deploys intermediate-range nuclear-capable
missiles to Bosnia and Algeria and China warns the European powers that they
should stay out of the war. U.S. intelligence perceives and reports the
deployment and NATO Council declares the missiles be removed immediately. A missile
with a nuclear warhead, launched from Algeria, explodes outside Marseilles, and
NATO retaliates with devastating air attacks against North African targets.
(The Clash of Civilization, p. 314)
BALKAN WAR:
Before NATO can act, Serbia wishing to reclaim its historic role as the
defender of Christianity against the Turks, invade Bosnia. Croatia joins in and
the two countries occupy and partition Bosnia, capture the nuclear missiles,
and proceed with efforts to complete the ethnic cleansing which they had been
forced to stop in 1990s. Albania and Turkey attempt to help Bosnia. Greece and
Bulgaria launch invasions of Bosporus. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 315)
USA-EUROPE-RUSSIA-INDIA
ALLIANCE: The United States, Europe, Russia and India have thus become engaged
in a truly global struggle against China, Japan and most of Islam. How would
such a war end? Both sides have major nuclear capabilities and clearly, if
brought into more than minimal play would destroy the principal countries on
both sides. If mutual deterrence worked, mutual exhaustion might lead to a
negotiated armistice, which would not resolve the fundamental issue of Chinese
hegemony in East Asia. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 315)
RUSSIA-CHINA
WARS: Alternatively, the West could attempt to defeat China using conventional
military power. The alignment of Japan with China gives China the protection of
an insular cordon sanitaire preventing the United States from using its naval
power against the centers of Chinese population and industry along its coast.
The alternative is to approach China from the west. The fighting between Russia
and China leads NATO to welcome Russia as a member. NATO and Russia cooperate:
(a) in countering Chinese incursions into Siberia, and (b) maintaining Russian
control over the Muslim oil and gas countries of Central Asia. NATO and Russia
cooperate: (c) in promoting insurrections against Chinese rule by Tibetans,
Uighurs, and Mongolians. The cooperate (d) in gradually mobilizing and
deploying Western and Russian forces eastward into Siberia for the final
assault across the Great Wall to Beijing, Manchuria, and the Han heartland.
(The Clash of Civilization, p.315)
(6) Rise of the
Southern World:
The outcome
of this global civilization’s war shall be, (a) mutual nuclear devastation, (b)
a negotiated halt as a result of mutual exhaustion, and (c) eventual march of
Russian and Western forces into Tiananmen Square. The broader long-term result
would almost inevitably be the drastic decline in the economic, demographic, and
military power of all major participants in the war. Consequently, global
power, which had shifted over the centuries from the East to the West and had
then begun to shift back from the West to the East, would now shift from North
to the South. The great beneficiaries of the war of civilizations are those
civilizations, which abstained from it. With the West, Russia, China, and Japan
devastated to varying degrees, the way is open for India, if it escaped such
devastation although it was a participant, to attempt to reshape the world
along Hindu lines. (The Clash of Civilization, p.316)
(7) Disintegration
of Indonesia:
If Asia,
China, Japan, and Korea are devastated by the war power also shifts southward.
Indonesia, which had remained neutral in the war, becomes the dominant state.
Indonesia under the guidance of its Australian advisors, acting to shape the
course of events from New Zealand on the east to Myanmar-Burma and Sri Lanka on
the west and Vietnam on the north. All of which presages future conflict with
India, and revived China. In any event, the center of world politics moves
south. (The Clash of Civilization, p. 316)
AFRICA: The
Latin American countries sat out the war, and experienced booming economies.
Africa, on the other hand, has little to offer to the rebuilding of Europe and
instead disgorges hordes of socially mobilized people to prey on the remains.
(8) Cause of Third
World War:
What is most
plausible and hence most disturbing about this scenario is the cause of war.
The world war is caused by intervention by the core state of one civilization
(the United States) in a dispute between the core state of another civilization
(China) and a member of that civilization (Vietnam). To the United States such
intervention was necessary, to prevent the domination by a single power. To
China, that intervention was totally intolerable, as it provoked opposition to
within its legitimate sphere of influence. (The Clash of Civilization, p.316)
(9) Abstention
Rule:
In the coming
era, in short, the avoidance of major inter-civilization’s wars requires core
states to refrain from intervening in conflicts of other civilizations. This is
as truth which some states, particularly the United States, will undoubtedly
find difficult to accept. This Abstention Rule that core states refrain from
intervention in conflicts of other civilizations is the first requirement of
peace in a multiCivilization, Multipolar world. The second requirement is the
Joint Mediation Rule that core states negotiate with each other to contain or
to halt fault line wars between states and groups from their civilizations.
Acceptance of these Joint Mediation Rules, by a world with greater equality
among civilizations, will neither be easy for the West nor for other
civilizations, especially the civilization that aims to supplement or supplant
the West in its dominant role. (The Clash of Civilization, p.316)
(10) During Decline of the West
To preserve
Western civilization in the face of declining Western power, it is in the
interest of the United States and European countries to accept the following.
(a) To preclude states from other civilizations exploiting differences among
them. (b) Expedite the Westernization of Latin America. (c) To accept Russia as
the core-state of Orthodoxy and a major regional power with legitimate
interests in the security of its southern borders. (d) To check Japan from
drifting away from the West and toward accommodation with China. (e) To
recognize that Western intervention in the affairs of other civilizations is probably
the single most dangerous source, of instability and potential global conflict
in a multi-civilization’s world. (The Clash of Civilization, p.312)
(11) Third World War
Professor
Samuel P. Huntington gave a wonderful scenario of the coming Civilization’s war
of the future. These parts of his scenario are most plausible.
CHINA: The
emergence of China as the dominant power in East and Southeast Asia would be
contrary to American interests. Korea will reunite. China would takeover
Taiwan. China would invade Vietnam. Chinese submarines and aircraft would
impose serious damage on U.S. ships. Japan: Japan would accommodate China to
insure its flow of oil. Japan would become a co-belligerent against the United
States. The alignment of Japan with China gives China the protection of an
insular sanitaire, preventing the United States from using its naval power
against China. (The Clash, p.313)
ISLAMIC BOMB:
The military alliance between Pakistan, Iran, and China activates. Islamic
movements bring down the pro-Western governments in Arab countries and in
Turkey. China and Iran secretly deploy intermediate-range nuclear capable
missiles to Bosnia and Algeria. An Islamic missile with a nuclear warhead,
launched from Algeria, with the help of Iran and China, explodes outside
Marseilles. (The Clash, p. 317)
SINO-RUSSIAN
WAR: At the start of the war, China proposed a mutual security pact with
Russia. Five million Chinese illegal migrants in Eastern Siberia, against seven
(7) million Russians, interfere with the Russian movements of troops. China
occupies Vladivostok and the Amur River valley. Fighting spreads between Russia
and Chinese troops in central Siberia. China occupies Mongolia. (The Clash, p.
314)
INDIA: With
the West, Russia, China, and Japan devastated to varying degrees, the way is
open for India, if it escaped such devastation even tough it was a participant,
to attempt to reshape the world along Hindu lines. The great beneficiaries of
the war of civilizations are those civilizations, which abstained from it. The
global power would now shift from North to the South. (The Clash, p. 316)
(12) Permanent
Members of UN-SC:
From the
Civilization’s point of view, Japan and India, should be two (2) new permanent
members. Africa, Latin America and the Muslim world should also have a
permanent seat each. These three (3) permanent seats occupied on a rotating
basis by the leading states of those civilizations. The selections should be
made by, (1) the Organization of the Islamic Conference, (2) the organization of
African Unity, and (3) the Organization of American States (the United States
abstaining). It would also be appropriate to consolidate the British and French
permanent seats into a single (1) European Union seat the rotating occupant of
which would be selected by the European Union. Seven (7) civilizations would
thus have one (1) permanent seat each and the West would have two (2), (total
of nine-9), allocation broadly representative of the distribution of people,
wealth, and power in the world. (The Clash, p. 317-8)
4(10) Conclusion
(1) War of Civilizations Improbable
A global war involving the core states of the major civilizations is highly improbable but possible. A more dangerous source of a global civilization’s war is the shifting balance of power between civilizations and their core states. In the post-Cold War world, for the first time in history, global politics has become multipolar and mutli-Civilization’s. Religion is the central defining characteristic of the Civilization. The great religions are the foundations on which the great civilizations rest. The Cultural and religious conflicts are increasing and more dangerous today than any time in history and future conflicts will be sparked by cultural and religious factors, rather than economics or ideology. In addition, the most dangerous cultural conflicts are those along the fault lines between the civilizations.
(2) Six World Powers
The international system of the twenty-first century will contain following six major civilizations. They shall be (i) Protestant United States, (ii) Catholic United Europe, (iii) Orthodox Russia, (iv) Buddhist China, (v) Hindu India and (vi) Pakistan led Islamic World. In this new-world local politics is the politics of ethnicity; global politics is the politics of civilizations. The rivalry of the superpowers replaced by the clash of civilizations.
(3) India in the Tripolar World
The world was Tripolar not Bipolar world from 1947 to 1962, and three major blocs from 1945 to 1962 were the Western World, the Eastern World and the Southern World, and India led the Southern world. China could never emerge as the leader of the Third World.
(4) Missionaries Menace to South Korea
South Korea historically was an overwhelmingly Buddhist country, with Christians number in 1950 perhaps 1 percent to 3 percent of the population. By 1980’s Christians, largely Presbyterians and Catholics were at least 30 percent of South Korea population.
(5) Population of Christians Hindus Muslims
The Catholics and Protestants together represented 26.9 percent of world population in 1900 and 30 percent in 1980. Muslims increased dramatically from 12.4 percent in 1900 to 16.5 or 18 percent in 1980, to 17.1 percent in 2000. Hindus represented 12.5 percent of world population in 1900, 13.3 percent in 1980 and 13.5 percent in 1985 and 13.7 percent in 2000.
(6) India 4th Largest Economy
India was the world’s sixth largest industrial nation in 1945. In 2002, the top four economies of the world were, namely, United States, China, Japan and India. World Bank estimated India’s GNP at PPP at US$ 2.2 trillion in 2000.
(7) Slav Russia Asian or European
Within Russia the debate over Russia’s true-identity reemerged in full vigor. Russia should not become a part of the West. Russia does embody a distinct Orthodox and Eurasian civilization with a unique destiny to link with Asia as Russia took birth as the tax collectors for the Mongol Empire and it links Russian Civilization with Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic civilizations. Slav Russians should develop closer spiritual links with Hinduism, to join forces to bring down the worldwide dominance of Catholic Church.
(8) Europe’s Religious Faultline
In European Union a new fault line is emerging, a basically cultural divide between Western Europe marked by western Christianity (Roman Catholic or Protestant), on the one hand, and the Eastern Europe marked by eastern Christianity, on the other.
(9) Greater China
Greater China is thus not simply an abstract concept. It is a rapidly growing cultural and economic reality and has begun to become a political one. The economy of East Asia is increasingly China-centered and Chinese-dominated. Chinese from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore have supplied much of the capital responsible for the growth of the mainland in the 1990s. Overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia dominates the economies of these countries.
(10) Cold Peace
Emerging inter-Civilization’s relations would approximate a condition of Cold Peace could be the future of relations between Russia and the West.
(11) Role of Religion in New World Order
A New World order is emerging based on religious civilizations. The Vatican's universalistic pretensions increasingly bring it into conflict with Orthodoxy, Buddhist and Hindu civilizations. The survival of the Western civilization depends on Americans and West Europeans reaffirming their secular nationalist identities, defined on non-Catholic terms. The survival of the Western Civilization also depends on the Vatican's acceptance that Christianity is not the only Universal Religion in the world. And that Catholic Pope is not the representative of Gods of Orthodox, Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist and tribal civilizations, who account for more than 75% of the world population. Avoidance of a global war of religions depends on world leaders accepting and cooperating to maintain the multi-Civilization and multi religious character of global politics.
